Fleetwood returns for my 4th attempt to quit. - No Smoking Day
Fleetwood returns for my 4th attempt to quit.
Wotcha Fleetwood
It happens; I've lost count of what quit number this is...the main thing is I'm not smoking
Enjoy it!
Hi Fleetwood.
The great thing is that you are trying again, no matter how matter times you've been here before. I've always thought that the only way to achieve something you really want is to keep at it until you succeed.
What's your plan of attack?
Alex.
dont give in to the weed, one day at a time does the trick..iv been there just like you ,but won the battle,,you jyst keep the faith
Hi stav and Alex im going to stay on the loz until i feel ok in coming off. Drink more water and snack on celery and grapes, i rarely drink coffee but i do like my Tea. My OH still smokes but has cut down alot. And he puffs on one of them new fags called 10 motives. And so do i sometimes. The thing is i loved to have a fag but the smell afterwards is repulsive as we all know. I had my last fag this morning and so far have not had one. I really hope i can keep saying No to myself. When i go out to do my voluntary i dont smoke at all its just when at home i do. Il have to keep myself busy we dont smoke indoors i put a stop to that last year. I have hobbies and one in particular is making my own greeting cards. Anyway enough of me rattling on. Last Fag: 10am 14th August 2011.
Hi Fleetwood,
Sounds like you're motivated, so just keep telling yourself that you don't want it any more. It would be great if you could get to a point where your not 'trying' any more, but 'knowing' that it is what you will do.
One thing I might suggest, for those who have 'associative cravings' is to do things differently when confronted with those associations, at least in the beginning. For example, if you are used to sitting in a particular chair or armchair to have a smoke, try sitting in a different chair to not smoke. If you usually smoke while watching TV, then read a book instead, or vice-versa. In other words, break the associations by living slightly differently than usual, until you are used to no longer smoking.
Alex.
Thanks everyone. Catch u all tomorrow.
Awwwwwww my fellow Fab Febber was only asking where you all were, seen Tracey on here and now you.
Never mind the blip at least your back quitting now, and you got to 3 months at least you'll know what to expect now.
All the best.
