Still keeping it up!

Feeling very proud of myself. I work in a shop and feel slighly smug each time a 'dirty smoker' comes in to buy cigarettes. So glad it's not me in that situation anymore.

Was on patches for about 3 weeks. Took my daughter swimming so removed the patch, tried going without it when we finished and managed ok.

Have had the occasional twingey craving, but nothing dramatic. Would love my husband to pack in too so house would be smoke free, but that's something he has to do in his own time.

Hoping all the ex smokers are doing ok.

Helen

Well done Helen, you're doing so well :)

And good for your for quitting on your own - I'm lucky in that my other half wanted to quit as well and he is still off them too. If I was quit and he was still smoking I think I would have taken a lump hammer to his head before now!!!! :)

Well Done!!

:D

five weeks that's 35 days that's excellent, especially with your husband still doing it!

And respect for going cold turkey off the patches. :)

I'm finding this site does help but there is also a free no, which I don't know if you heard of, it's a charity to help you stop and stay stopped, you ring 0800 002 200 (a free no) and you get a counsellor who will talk you through any really severe cravings or problems with your quit.

well done on getting this far! It is difficult when you have someone in the house still smoking - have you thought of asking him to smoke outside? My husband quit with me but didn't last unfortunately, but he does smoke outside.

I'm wanting to give up the patches next - i think i have been on them long enough. I have a prescription for the lower dose for a couple of weeks then off it comes! I do try and leave it off for a little while but I'm worried I might be jumping the gun. What was it like when you took it off?
