omg!!! 101 days

Hi All

Only just realised, I've been smoke free for 101 days!!!! Can't believe it, just wish I felt happier:(. I have been finding it really hard the last 2 weeks, could quite easily open a pack and smoke them all:mad:

My life has been quite stressful of late, maybe that's the problem???

Why do I still want to smoke? Up until the last 2 weeks, I really thought I had this quit sorted? Boy was I wrong!!! My skin has started being greasy (Has always been really dry?) Still putting on weight (feel like a hippo) Just feel s***e all of the time:(Sorry for moaning but the oh doesn't understand, never smoked!!

Hopefully things will get easier? I really don't want to go back to smoking, I know I would never give up again, thoses first few dAYS AAARGH NO WAY!!

  • miles - you might think you want one but as soon as you light up you'd become everwhelmed with guilt and a huge sense of failure having gone so long.

I know it's a cliche but with this you have good days and bad days, I don't have all the answers but having a plan for when you get a craving works for me - OK it involves eating and I'll be a stone heavier at the end of the craving but hey, I'll still be smoke free !

Hope you find a solution and stay quit - good luck

  • Funny Miles I've been feeling the same and only a day behind you. Thinking could it be the terrible three's people talk about? Hope you feel better soon, and like you would never want to go back to day one!

    Stay strong. x

  • horse - I know that you are right, I would feel dreadful:(. I don't even know what it is that I think I am missing??? I don't want to smell like an ashtray, be skint and a letdown??? It's just strange, I just don't feel like me without smoking?? All of my friends smoke so I am putting off seeing them incase the temptation is too much?? No wonder I feel so lonely -lol.

O well maybe tomorrow will be the day that I feel all of this misery has been worthwhile?

    Thanks for being there x

  • Hi Betty - How strange, maybe it is those 3's ? I really didn't think it would be this hard? I keep forgetting I have given up, eg, when I have done this ironing I will go and have a ciggie, o no I won't I have given up - what is going on????Feels like I'm on week 2 not day 102!!!!

    Thanks for listening x

YES i know that one forgot u quit i went through a phase of that a while back it seemed ridiculous as i was a few months in yet it was like i had forgot but it has passed

your mind is just playing tricks on u and your nicodemon is desparate to get u back on board

laugh at that nicodemon tell him to shove it where the sun dont shine u will be fine

  • Hi miles1

You are not alone! So many of us trundle along after those first, expected hard, days. It gets better and easier then the old nicodemon (who is really Pi**ed) he has not won you back yet gives a good old shove in our direction. He will do that from time to time, usually when you least expect it. So long as you know he will give a sneaky try from time to time you will be prerpared to beat him, and you will ;) He knows you can beat him, thats why he is sneaky. tell him to shove it etc as Boo says :D

  • arrrr thanks everybody, really is good to know that I am not alone in all of this. Think I will have one more brandy then it's off to bed for me, no more nightmares, no more sleepness nights, go back to the early quit days, no thanks. as hard as this seems now, it's a walk in the park compared to the early days. If I kep telling myself that I will be fine - ;) x

  • A good plan ;) ;)At the end of the day, some weird dreams, broken or disturbed sleep is nothing compared to what we have subjected our bodies to because we believe we enjoyed it . Maybe we thought we did but our bodies where crying out for us NOT to subject us to all that poisonous smoke and c**p

Enjoy that brandy, hopefully a good nights sleep and awaken to another smoke free day :D

  • I'll drink to that!!! Infact lately i'll drink to anything - lol. Think I'm one of those people who needs to have a vice in their lives hey ho one vice at a time eh ;).

Just read your thread from earlier Betty Boop, I hope you are feeling better now, our feelings are so similar, it must have something to do with the length of our quit? We will both get through this, we have come too far to go back now!! x

  • Goodnight all, sweetdreams x:D

  • Good night and wishing you a bl**dy good smoke free thought/day tomorrow ;)

  • Thank you x

  • Welcome, now just go to bed and build up your strength for tomorrow, perhaps I should do to lol.

  • ups and downs..ups and downs..so true:rolleyes: congrats on 101 days!! remember no matter how hard it may seem at times its worth the struggle and if you can go 101 days without it then you really dont need it hun! stay strong!!:D
