Think I know where I went wrong......

Hi my name is Becky, have tried to quit 4 times. There seems to be a pattern in my failed attempts. Firstly it is nights out and secondly it is not coming on here.

Last Friday I went on a works night out (work isn't going great but hey ho) and I caved. I had lasted 6 weeks and was feeling the benefits, carried on smoking till this morn. Finished cig at ten this morn. I have no get a patch and feeling optimistic.

Can't believe how bad I feel after smoking for 4 days, my nails are grim, my chest is sore and my throat is.

In six weeks, I was just starting to get my energy back that I can't really say I've had since a kid, my skin was looking fab and I was really getting control of work, home etc.

It really is an awful drug and I will not give up giving up.

Well done and good luck to everyone! We are doing the right thing.:)

Good Luck Becky...I highly recommend you check the forum out every day. I have yet to find anything, anybody or anywhere else that has helped me through my quit that is better than this forum.

We'll be here for you....:)

Aw sorry to hear that you had a little wobble but it's good that it has highlighted the bad parts for you. Out of interest, what went through your head when you caved? Hopefully you'll be more aware of exactly what triggered it and what questions you should ask yourself before lighting up again.

Hiya Becky,

Am glad you are getting straight back on a quit. I am sure it won't be long before you get that control back :D

Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated.

Peaky, I dont really know what I was thinking when I caved, partially due to being intoxicated (lol). The first cig was great the rest were awful and I was reminded of how much they control you.

Well, I am definately going to avoid heavy nights out for a while.

Thanks again

Hi Becky,

WELL DONE for clambering back onto the wagon.

I've avoided getting even a little bit drunk since quitting, because it seems to be (for so many people) like sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting 'LA LA LA LA VOICE OF REASON I CAN'T HEAR YOOOOOU'. I've seen a good many quits fail on this forum as a direct result of a bit too much booze! Not saying you should do as I do, but definitely be better prepared next time you have a few!

Maybe you need to write 'there is no such thing as just one!' on the back of your hand next time you go out! :D

Stick with it now, there's so much to be gained, and nothing lost.
