day 1: this is my second attempt at quitting... - No Smoking Day
day 1
Hi Lyns - in the same boat. I did ok a couple of weeks back, managed 5 days and spoiled it at the weekend. For that, and this forum i've found 2 ways to tackle the "habit" thing.
1. Change your routine - go to the canteen for your break, or look in internet (read this forum to keep you strong), even sitting in a different chair in the eve etc
2. Do the usual - for me that is come home sit down with a cold glass of coke and have a cig....but obv just dont have the cig part - it IS hard at first but after a couple of days you realise it's the relaxing and drink part you enjoy and the cig part really is just relieving the nicotine widthdrawal - it's funny how quickly not smoking in certain situations becomes normal. I realise this may sound hypocritical given as i "fell down" recently, but since i managed the 5 days i havent smoked in my car or at work.
When's your quit date?

Read the forum, we're all here with our horror stories to help each other lol
Get Chewing Gum, chewing gum for just a few seconds (for SOME) is enough to get rid of a craving.
Hot water & Lemon is a great detox, and I dont know why, but drinking that seemed to help me!
Don't be afraid to fall off the wagon, far too many of us deem ourselves instant failures when we fail to quit. We're not GODS, we're HUMANS! We make mistakes, we get over it, we start it again and we keep trying until we get it right!
Good Luck !
