whooooo, am officially in day three... gave up at 11.53pm NYE. the cravings are stronger now, but I am pushing through. Was thinking to myself that once you hit the wall its kinda easier after that... so, in the words of Dale Winton, "BRING ON THE WALL".
Vicki's day 3: whooooo, am officially in day... - No Smoking Day
Vicki's day 3
Hi Vicky. Hope its going well. I expect it is You have a great attitude girl!
Hi Vicki!
Congratulations on day 3!!!
I quit cold turkey too.
I found the Freedom site which is for people who quit with out using nicotine replacement very helpful.
There is some information on there about the 'wall' and about day 3. If I remember correctly on day 3 you will have gotten all the nicotine out of your system. A few more days for any lingering withdrawal symptoms to end.
Then the physical addiction is over!!!
However, then it is all about mental addiction. There is lots on the Freedom site about reshaping and controlling your cravings, learning new behaviors and taking on each (craving) trigger and facing it down so it does not keep happening. Worked very well for me at and I think it had lasting effects that helped me make 1 year without even a slip up.
Take it one second at a time, and never another puff!!!!
Again, congratulations on 3 days without a smoke!!!!
Deb

am having a bit of a period of agitation...am feeling irratable and restless... I should be Nicotine free by now, and I think the REAL withdrawals have started to kick in... I have sent my son to get me some Skittles to give me a little hand to mouth action.
Hi Vicki,
Hope the skittles do the trick. Vegetable sticks would be good as well, they take longer to chew than sweets lol. Drink plenty of cold water as well.
I am feeling light headed & queasy today. I know why, just have to get through it. Tomorrow will be better

Gaynor xxthats the only bit of snacking I have done today so I think it'll be ok. I have just gotten rid of my agitation from this afternoon, and the craving have calmed down again too. I had this thing this afternoon where I didn't know what to do with my hands, it was driving me nuts because they were restless... I just tapped my fingers on the sofa for 20 minutes until the feeling when off.
Am starting weight watchers on saturday too, so after cutting down on the smoking, it's time to lose the stone's worth of extra baggage I have from my previous quit...
Light headed and queasy is your body's way of reajusting to the extra oxygen you are getting, thats a good thing.
I am going to my surgery's quit group tomorrow, its a drop in group so not sure how busy its gonna be... will let you know what its like.
