Well changed the routine a bit - spent loads of time in places I couldn't smoke - and made it through the weekend without smoking
I also stopped taking the champix once I got to 72 hours nicotine free. It did exactly what I needed it to - gave me the push and the boost to stop and made the first 72 hours do-able - so once the 72 hours were up then there was nothing else it could do for me so have stopped taking it.
I really cant believe that I have almost done a full week
I know there is a long way to go yet but the week milestone is a big one when your just starting out
Great job on tackling the weekend and winning! It really is a case of lining up the battles and getting through them on at a time. The cravings will hit and the habits are strong, so just get through them, each success makes your quit that much stronger!
I have a few situations I know are coming where the habit side will be VERY strong (getting off a transatlantic flight is one) but I will not throw away my quit for that. This weekend I have tackled the long journey without a ciggie - although when they closed the M25 about 100 yards in front of me, just before South Mimms services and I had a screamingly hungry 4 year old in the back I was debating going car to car for a cig! Luckily got through it, stopped at the services, got him fed and left without buying a pack!
Do what it takes to stay smoke free. Im into my 5th week, so am living proof it can be done. I smoked 40 a day sometimes more if I was having a particually bad day. You can do it.
You can get past it Munter, just think how good and proud you'll feel by Sunday if you do. Have some Chupa Chups to hand cos they keep your hand and mouth busy for a good 10 minutes.
... Where is this 1 fag coming from? Do you have a secret stash?
The one from Saturday is normally scavenged of unsuspecting collegues during the week. I break them in half and have one half in a roll-up. Leaving the other half for later in the same evening.
It's shoddy I know. I've been snowed in this week - so nobody at work to nick one off!
