ummm....don't know where to start! ...need to give up the fags so I can give up the drink and the gambling habit....... I think it's all connected. Am embaressed about what i'm about to post, but at least i'm being honest (with myself if nothing else).
Went out drinking tonight, then came home and went on an online bingo site.... don't do it every night as can't afford it. Bet £10 and won over £700. Then stupidly bet it all and am now only £5 up...
Can't wait for these champix tablets to kick in cos i don't think I'll drink when i don't smoke. Could of helped my family out of a hole with those winnings..but now we're still skint.

Hi. Well done on admitting the issues you have to face, thats a good and very brave step towards a good outcome. Please don't think you are giving up anything. You are leaving a rubbish past behind and embarking on a truly great journey. The end outcome is doable. Take it from an olympic smoker. I would suggest you look at help regarding your other addictions too. I would hate the smoking to fall down because you were relying on that to help the drinking. I would say you need to takle each head on.
Quiting the fags is amazing. I love my life now. I am in control and not the nicotine and all it takes is the urge to quit and some education. Read my signature links. The woofmang tales were such an inspiration to me and many others and also supply good logical reasons why you may be feeling like a smoke sometimes and tools to avoid going back on the fags.

Your not stupid at all, and by no means have an addictive personality, people say these addictions are ok in moderation, smoking doesnt do any good, its an addiction but you dont need a pill just allen carrs method, just open your mind to what is said cause its not bullshit it hasnt changed me as a person, but i have seen the way we can quit smoking without suffering withdrawl symtoms, drink is ok if you take it moderately but if u have a problem apply the same allen carr method to drink and u'll be fine. theres no period of misery you have to go through at all. i dont generally gamble so i cant comment on that, hey at least it doesnt ruin your health..
it doesnt take courage, it doesnt take will power and even a fool can see the trap that these addictions can put you in. its not a habit, its an addiction but it can easily be reversed. ---Allen Carr--- R.I.P

Hi what can i say I wish i could be there just to give you a hug its a long haul for you ...but you can only take it one step at a time... you have taken the first step to stop smoking which is hard enough as it is...I think you need to get extra help from people around you...your family friends?? hopefully you have at least that!!! some support from your family maybe? even speaking to the doctor who prescribed champix should be able to help.. if all fails you have us here for the support
Am on day 8 of Champix and due to stop smoking on Monday. I reckon I'm now smoking about 10-12 a day instead of my usual 20-30. Told my hubby about the gambling the other night (I haven't been doing it for long) and told him what I'd lost. He called me a silly cow, then gave me a hug and said it didn't matter as we all make stupid mistakes sometimes. I haven't touched a gambling site since. I am still drinking, but nothing like what I was a week or so ago..I think the tablets may be putting me off that also. I don't want you lovely lot to think I'm a raging alcoholic and excessive gambler, cos I'm not. I like a drink probably 3-4 days out of 7, but sometimes I have one too many and do something stupid like gamble.
I am however a nicotine addict and will do my best to be rid of that habbit in 4 days time. My little boy said to me tonight 'Mummy, when are you going to give up smoking please?' My reply, 'Monday'.........an answer I promise to keep.
Thank you again for all your kind messages, and I wish you all well in your endeavours to stay quit.
