i have had the most unbelievably stressful 2 days EVER, and today i had a fleeting thought of "i could kill for a fag now"..but knew it was just a habit to think that when stressed, and actually i didnt even want a fag, so all is good!!

I've had a few majorly rough and dark days so although I have still been reading I haven't joined in as I didn't want to bring anyone down

However, hopefully it's shifting a bit (I can but hope).

One month for me today - I should be jumping up and down but instead I'm just grateful I made it!

Sorry Claire missed Day 50 but WOW Day 51 is brilliant, you are doing so well and sounding so up beat and it will soon be 2 whole months and party time xx

the days are flying by at the moment!!

I had a friend over for the day yesterday and the oddest thing happened-

she is a smoker, and knows i have quit, so she told me she was just popping out the back garden to have a ciggie. I told her not to worry about it, that she could smoke in my house.

I dont know what i was most suprised at:

1- she sat there and smoked about 6 ciggies, right in front of me and it didnt even bother me (!!!)

OR

2- i cant believe my house used to smell so bad!!!

I think that it was a huge achievement to be able to sit next to her when she was smoking, and not even crave a ciggie!!

It was the oddest sensation (in a good way obviously)!

How are you all doing?

I am starting to feel all alone in the month 2 thread!!

I am so excited about moving up to the next thread!!

Been a bit low recently and haven't wanted to bring anyone down with me! But still smoke free, day 36 (I think!)

Well odne on staying smoke free even though you are low. Sometimes stress is a killer.

I had a bit of a funny moment on friday afternoon during a heath psychology lecture (i am doing my degree in psychology). The lecturer was talking about deaths related to cancer.

She gave us the stats:

30% of cancer deaths are due to smoking

35% of cancer deaths are due to diet!!!!!!

HOLY HEC, i need to start eating sensibly as well???:eek:..i just quit smoking and you're telling me i have to do MORE!!??? AARRGGHH!!!!!

But then i calmed down and realised that she was only talking baout DEATHS related to cancer...and someone can suffer terribly for years before they die of smoking related diseases, so i felt a bit better after that!

But now i am on a mission to start eating better, and have been shopping for loads of healthy stuff (we are all healthy eaters, but love the sweet stuff too (as i type i have double choc muffins in the oven)!

Sorry, i am rambling now!
