Day 16 and got a really tight chest, had to use my inhaler a couple of times over the last few days. Didnt get this on previous quit. Also my voice just keeps randomly disappearing and then coming back!? Breaking maybe!? lol
On the good side, since I have been put on the 16hr patches instead of 24 hour ones I am sleeping like a baby (no nightmares whoo hoo!) but tired all the time and can't get out of the bed in the morning!? I know I am supposed to have more energy but nope....its not here??
Having a quiet weekend staying home and getting lots of rest so hopefully next week I will feel better, just wondered if anyone is the same, I am in the early stages of week 3 x

hi TMB
chest infections are common when you quit .. as your lungs are now getting healthier they are suceptible to infections and things, by the sound of it your'e are an asthmatic as i am and we should never have smoked in the first place but we did .......dont worry TMB it is your lungs repairing themselves and after years of abusing them it is only fair they make us suffer a little bit ...... hang in there and take your preventor (brown inhaler) a little more .... go see your doc would be the best advice i would give because if it is the start of an infection he may give you some antibiotics to help ............
Only had asthma for 3 years, brought on by smoking!!!
My Asthma isnt bad at the moment really i'm not wheezing or anything, my asthma seems non-existent when I quit which is great, my chest is just a little tight. The other good thing is that my "allergies" seem to disappear when I quit too. I dont get colds. My heyfever used to be what, say a 10 and its now like a 1! Just in three weeks nearly! Will be glad when I get over the 1 month mark I tell ya! x

Now you have stopped smoking your asthma will be a lot more manageable and hopefully you will not need those wretched inhalers anymore.......... pop top to the doc's though TMB you might need some meds you might not , but only he will tell you the right thing ..... 1 month is very near for you hang in there hope you feel better soon
