Hi Daniel,
I too am on fifth day and am like a bear with a sore head.
The thing is you stubbed ciggie out half way through - and got on to forum right away.
It was a small blip in my eyes , you have learned from it -so put it behind you .
I have an inhalator permanently hanging in mouth it seems today!!
We will do it you know . we will ! we will !!
good luck mate xx
Hi Dan - so you smoked half a cigarette. If you hadn't quit you would have smoked how many in the last 5 days????
Don't get too disheartened. Think about what made you light up and try to identify if there was a trigger - then avoid it
You can do this but need to keep a good PMA, plenty of willpower, and keep reading anything you can on quitting - forewarned is forearmed and all that!
Keep up the good work Dan and put this tiny little blip to the back of your mind. There u go:)
BTW - forgot to say I am on day 66 now and still using my inhaltor - not often but its there if and when I need it so dont be shy in using it and feel like you have to stop too soon. It's a good crutch and helps enormously
thanks guys i will do my best to put this blip behind me, and try to move on from it without cigarrettes.
Hi Dan stop beating yourself up and move on, you cannot see it yet but that’s probably a strong quitting aid to you, you have had a puff and decided it’s not for you so hopefully you will never smoke again, be on your guard though as you might think in the not too distant future that you can have another puff and get away with it, but there would come a point where you would pass from a puff to a smoke and so on.
If you have decided that you don’t want to smoke ever again then you need to be more focused and know that it is not easy and anyone who has decided that it is then I think there will be tears before bedtime
You are doing very well and with the site to keep you on the smoke free track you will continue to do so, have a good weekend and take care if you are out pubbing or clubbing, if you feel the urge to smoke with friends then lean over and have a big sniff up and this will curb your desire, I am sure.
Stay Strong And Motivated.
i've had 3 cigarretes today, i dont think im using the inhalor as much as i should be because i keep having moments of weakness. so im going to set myself a small target of not having another one today and see how i get on. i definately dont want to go back to smoking 20 a day, if that happens i will have completely failed. i will keep posting and keep you's updated.
hey dan
one day at a time will be good ...forget today ..just think tomorrow i wont smoke...& everyday just think that ...Its so flipping frustrating at times this quit thing ....Just think how much u have done in a short time....if its tomorrow, next week or next month ...you know you want to give up smoking ....& you will ...xx im sure if it ...keep us updated ..
