:)... and I'm determined to do it once and for all after over 30 years of addiction. Wish me luck, I need all the support I can get
Tomorrow I become a non-smoker ... - No Smoking Day
Tomorrow I become a non-smoker ...
good for you Alison, the very best of luck on making a fantastic decision and one you wont regret. There's no shortage of support on here, everyones in the same boat just remember to read loads on here, especially the links in peeps signatures, and post loads.
Thanks, don't expect it to be easy and I'll need loads of support but this time I'll do it!
You know how to do it Alison you say this is the last quit you will ever do and if you dont then smoking will kill you so we will give you all the support you will need.
Read all the good bits but also read the bad bits and it will give you knowledge which is a good way to stay quit.
Have a great quit and keep us informed as to how you are doing xx
Thank you jamangie, I've tried to prepare myself as best I can, this place has helped with loads of tips. Right now I'm both excited and scared at the same time - but if I can come back on here this time tomorrow and say that I haven't smoked all day then that'll be my first victory! I just don't want to be a nicotine junkie any more
Good luck allison for tomorrow ...First day of quit .... I remember at your stage now feeling excited & nervous all at the same time.....I can too understand the victory feeling you want from just getting through one day..A best way to be allison ....Every day just think I am not smoking just for today .... i look forward to ure post tomorrow ,,,lots of thoughts with you x
Well done Alison on making the best decision of your life.I am looking forward to congratulating you tomorrow on going a full day and i am sure there will be many more.As Kitkat says just take it one day at a time, that way it doesn't seem so daunting,Good luck hun you can do it!
debbiexxx:):)
Thanks so much Debbie! All organised here hopefully - coping strategies in place, fridge full of nibbles and iced water, and family & friends prepared for the frantic texts and phone calls! Oh and this place will be my first port of call when I get in from work tomorrow - probably need a wee grump, but I'll be blowing my own trumpet, yippee!!
Good luck for tomorrow Alison. I remember that feeling of excitement but it's nothing compared to how hyped up you'll be this time tomorrow when you haven't had a ciggie. I was telling random people how I hadn't had a fag all day
So well done in making the decision - I think that's the hardest part.
Take care.

Good luck Alison , Stick at it and truly enjoy the experience of getting your health back
I also smoked for 30 years and after several failed attempts at quitting which didn't do my self esteem any favours ....I decided enough is enough and whatever happens I am going to succeed THIS time.
The first few days will always be uncomfortable but from day three it gets easier . Take one day at a time and look at each day without a cigarette as another victory and before you know it you will have been stopped for a whole month and well on your way to recovery :D.
I found that gentle exercise is a great help , just going for a walk and filling your lungs with clean , fresh air.
We will help you ,
Best wishes
