Seems I rarely think about having a cigarette any more.... and when i do I tend to have negative thoughts about smoking rather than any positives at all!!!!
Does this mean I am officially a non smoker?
I have a raging sore throat though, sleeping is better..almost normal (for me!).. and I can manage to have a beer (or two) without a desire for a ciggie... now.. lets see... the only thing i havent tried yet is what happens after sex...lol...
so pleased i am on day 24....

I don't know, I suppose at the end of the day it is how you see yourself and what you think rather than anyone else.
If you think you are a non smoker then you are! You are though - you don't smoke do you?
These are just labels anyway but I think it does sound more positive to say, I am a non smoker or I don't smoke rather than I have given up or I am an ex smoker.......just my opinion though.
It is good though isn't it when we stop thinking about not smoking?!
I got up this morning and I realised it was an hour before I had any thoughts about not smoking/smoking/cigarettes etc.
I presume as the days go by these periods get longer and longer until they become continual stretches.
I think I shall call myself a non smoker... I dont really feel like a ciggie at all... so I guess that is the big clue...
It is onl;y a label though...
important thing is...
I have been quit for 3 Weeks, 2 Days, 19 hours and 57 minutes (23 days). I have saved £198.38 by not smoking 714 cigarettes. I have saved 2 Days, 11 hours and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 27/10/2008 21:15
Not sure what i'll do with the extra 2 days..lol... maybe a weekend in paris..haha...
I'm coming into the thick end of my first month now too. 20 days. I'm already telling people that I'm a non-smoker and seem to carrying it off too. Today, for some reason, has been a toughie, so I thought I'd come on here to try and keep motivated.
I think the hardest times aren't after sex, or with a beer i its when I go to pay for petrol at the local station and struggle not asking for 20 ML's. It almost just blurts out!!
Maybe I've only noticed this because I'm having one of those days...
I would say that if you dont smoke you are a non smoker
Welldone on your quit you are doing great, you should be really proud of youself to have come this far.
Also huge welldone to you Faglobe, hang in there hun you are doing so well. Although reading other posts from the longer quitters it seems that it is normal to have a bad day now and then but they get rarer.
bigfatzero,,lots of us some times get over confinent,,you must be on your guard at all times,,you never know when it will jump out at you,,and say ,0 just have one it wount do you any harm,,wrong,,one will lead to 2 then 3 and so on and on,,till you are back to your smoking again//very glad you are on day 24,,we here know you will not cave in,, you are stronger then you know,,like i say you just keep the faith tony
Having a much better day today, I think I might have been anxious about my appraisal. It went well and today hasn't been an issue at all. Must have just been that making me wobble.
Cheers to being non smokers!! I'm on day 26 and doing surprisingly well. I've lost all doubt and I think that's helped a lot! Good job to you! It's great to be able to consider yourself a non smoker because it's just not worth it!
I've been a newbie then a long term non smoker then a "Blippy Barbara" before becoming a full time chimney stack of a smoker and now a born again newbie since you first joined!!!
