Day 3 today and I feel quite positive and extremely proud!! I visited the NHS Stop Smoking Clinic today for my 2nd visit and my carbon monoxide levels have gone from 35 (off the scale apparantely!) to 0.6!!! Feels great to be free.
Patches are working well and I've only had 1 piece of the gum today!! The evenings are the worst as I get really bored but I got an inhalator today - thought it would be better to puff on a bit of plastic than give in to the urge.
Good luck everyone...

Well done Aly 155 (sandra here), we're sister's for anyone who's reading this. Day 3 and I must admit I am struggling a little bit.
Have given up twice before but wanted to get or was pregnant and found that easy in a way as had the incentive.Trouble was the 1st night out after my children were born and I would kind of treat myself but could never stop at one or be a social smoker and it escalatedfrom there.
Only 4 hours till bed (yes having early nights) & I know I will be soooo pleased to hit Day 4.
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Hi guys! Well I am on day three of not smoking and am starting to feel great! I have already saved £9 too which is a bonus! Yesterday was a close call but I ignored the nicotine monster, kept myself busy and got through it. I am using patches (which give me terrible nightmares) but they are worth it if I can finally kick the awful habit. I get married next year and the thought of needed a cig whilst in my wedding dress just doesnt go together. Also we want to start a family after the wedding, another big reason why I want to take control now. Everyone knows its going to be hard, but god do we realise when we start just how difficult it is. Well done to everyone anyway and lets keep it up
