day 3, not feeling so good

Ok so day 2 felt good, had cravings from the moment i woke up but i just laughed them off and worked through. But....... Today is a different story, i just feel so angry and everything is annoying me and pushing me to my absolute limits. Poor kids are hiding from me thinking mummy has turned into a crazy lady!I've ground my teeth so much my jaw hurts.feel wretched today but i really really don't wanna give in this time. Please make these feelings go away!!!!!!

This is a battle and you need weapons ;)

What weapons have you got,and I mean-NRT,Champix,patches,what,or are you doing it cold turkey?

You will get mad and sad and every other emotion plus some.But quitting is the kindest thing you might ever,ever do for you body and your soul so be determined.Get in lots of sweets,drink water a lot,chewing gum,keep your mouth busy.You can do this and you WILL do this :D

Like Max said, you need your weapons. If you don't have any NRT relatied weapons, try anything. Can you go and have a bath while the kids are busy?

Can you read a book? Go for some exercise and fresh air?

Do you have any chocolate lying around? A nice sugary cup of tea?

Try and indulge in something that usually makes you feel nice and the anger/frustration will pass :)

In the early days I chewed my way through one of those cardboard packs of Extra every day, but it got me through!!

Get something like a Tangle to keep your hands busy as well 'cos that really helps - nearly wore mine out!!

Exercise is fab, it gives you a bit of a high and your dopamine levels will be on the floor right now - so do choccie and sweets :)

But dig in, 'cos it gets so much better and quickly too - day 3 is the hardest one, so get through this and it's on the up :)

You're absolutely right and deep down i know im doing the best thing i can but its soooo hard! Lol!

I've gone cold turkey this time round. I have a theory that when I've used nrt in the past it has just prolonged the agony. This time, for the last time, I've decided to just get the nicotine out my system once and for all the quickest way possible. I have an ecig but haven't used it, im kindve thriving off the 'I've got you but don't need you' game. Maybe not smoking is making me mentally disturbed too. I don't know if its the right way to go about it but seems to be working (just).

Thanks Gemma-Lou, being told to eat chocolate is great. Might steal some of those Easter eggs that are still stacked up in the kids rooms! Im hoping I'll stop feeling so low/angry/tearful over the next few days and i know i need to focus on it getting easier over time, just wish i could hurry time up!!!

It will be much easier, in the future, to restrict our diet a little and lose a few pounds. It would be ultimately harder to give in now and to have to go through the ordeal again. That's what I'm telling myself when I reach for the chocolate, anyway ;) xxx

Lol, you're doing a great thing for yourself - and for your kids - so you can treat yourself to some nicies for now!!

This is definitely the hardest bit though, especially cold turkey, so once you're through this it's better :)

We CAN do it

I am also on day 3 CT, I had my anger yesterday evening and after a bad nights sleep feel lots better today.

This will pass and I believe we can both do this.

Just keep believing in yourself.
