This is my third attempt at quitting - 3rd time's a charm & all that! I did cold turkey 1st time round, patches 2nd time and am now determined that I'm not going to put myself through this quitting process again. This is it...
Just had my second cigarette of the day. Well more precisely half a ciggy! I now have a headache and feel sick
Had set my quit day for Sunday (day 11 on Champix) with my partner but since the last smoke was so awful I may just make that my last puff....ever I will be so glad to be rid of this habit. Help me stay strong and give me a good kick when I need it

Let's hope that it will be 3rd time lucky. Well luck has nothing to do with it really, as you know it's all about willpower and the determination to quit the cig's and get a better quality of life.
As you seem to be finding, Champix just seems to kick in when you least expect it. I quit on day 8 of using it and I am now on day 16 smoke free and still taking my Champix. I can honestly tell you, that I have never found it so easy, and I have tried it all.
Just go with it and I am sure you will succeed if you really want to. You will get all of the support that you need on this forum too.
Good luck with your quit day, and remember, you are losing nothing.
Well done deciding to stop smoking I had lots of tries before succeeding and like you I used Champix this time
I'm also pleased to hear you may bring your quit day forward as the fags taste so bad now and gave you a headache as well as making you feel sick
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Well I am officially on day 1 today as my OH decided he wasn't going to stop yesterday - grr. So I succumbed to having 1 yesterday morning. Probably a good thing as my last few days of smoking have been negative experiences on the Champix. It just suddenly starts to kick in like you say, almost before you're mentally prepared!
So I suppose I have now gone 24 hours without a cig on the brighter side! I WILL make it throught the rest of the day & evening. Tomorrow I will be in the day 2 forum - hurrah!
Well done to all much further down the road than I am
