Day 4 with the nrt patches

The patches seem to be working, I'm chilled out and don't feel like I need to have a smoke.

I used to smoke 20+ cigs per day.....The only time I feel annoyed is when I'm having a coffee break, the habit of goin' outside for a cig.

Terry,

bit of advice today though fella.. day 4 can be a day where you are more irritable, possibly even this evening, if you find yourself getting annoyed or really irritated for no major reasons, just back off from what you are doing at the time take a 5-10 min timeout and you'll get through.

Day 4 on patches for me was like that later in the day so i'm preparing you for the possibility just in case.

Hi terry

Well done you. I am on day 11 of patches & have felt the same everyday. Not needed a ciggie once. Thought about them a couple of times but on the whole don't give them a thought. We are all different, crikes even every quit is different LOL.

This is my best one yet in the way that I feel so gonna make sure it is the ONE.

Keep strong, you can do this :D

Day 10 on patches here and just like Gaynor, every day has been pretty much the same and on the whole not too bad. Now again I just think "Gonna pop out for smoke", before remembering I don't smoke anymore and the thought passes pretty quickly.

Well done and stick with it.

Hi Terry and welcome to the forum. Did not do the patches so cannot really give you advice on them, but take it one day at a time and very quickly the days will turn into weeks.

Have a good look around the forum and you will find lots of helpful advice on all aspects of quitting and try reading a few of the links as well, they will really help you keep your head in the right place.

Post often and let us know how you are getting on.

Day 5

Thanks to everyone who replied to my comments, I'm not used to forums but am really pleased I joined up. Today is the 5th day of nrt with patches, up to now things haven't really changed, the cravings are practically non exsistant and i feel like i've more energy. I'm drinking 1.5ltrs of water throughout the day at work and started eatin' cornflakes for lunch instead of my usual three or four ciggies!!! hope you are all coping and i'm lookin' forward to us all kicking this filthy habit for good.!!!!
