Day 9 and got a good sleep last night! - No Smoking Day
Day 9 and got a good sleep last night!
Hi Trikeschick
Well done on reaching day 9 - double figures before you know it!
The dreams are nuts, aren't they? Almost as nutty as pregnant dreams, I think. I could never work out if they were caused by the patches or by the quitting, but took mine off at night a few nights ago and have found I'm sleeping better as a result. Don't really need them at night, anyway, I would have thought - even as a heavy smoker, I rarely got up at 3am gasping for a ciggie!
That feeling of needing freedom from the fags is a big motivator I agree - I found that being a smoker was completely at odds with the rest of my life (feminist, veggie, indie.. you get the picture), and hated that feeling of being controlled by something, that feeling of rising panic when you realise you don't have enough cigs on you to get through an evening... amen to all that!
Well done - I'm sure it will get easier from here for all us February quitters!

Good for you you picked up on my hinted 'patch tip' in my reply to your previous post. Taking patch off before you sleep helps your sleep alot .. and you can cope with quitting so much better if you've had a half to decent nights kip. Just make your morning ritual rigid to include the putting on the fresh patch, and keep a patch in your work bag/pockets just incase you forget to put that patch on in the morning or are in a rush.
Good sleep is important tho, and good to see you are more bouncy now you've slept

Yes you are a star thank you - am going to the chemists to ensure I have my stage 1 patches for the rest of the treatment and will ensure I stash them in bags/suitcases as I travel as part of my job so can't afford to be without
