I was here just over 2 years ago. I managed a month of not smoking and then relapsed. I had a gum abcess and was in terrible pain, made the mistake of reaching for the cigs. Still, no excuse.
Anyway, I'm back and hopefully this time I will stop for good. I am using patches and slapped one on this morning. I'm finding it hard but am going to give this everything I've got. So, my last cigarette was 9pm last night.
Please wish me luck again.

You wont need luck Wendy, you know you can do a month standing on your head, then onwards and upwards. People do say read and read some more, but that's up to you. Well done on your new quit though. David.
Thank you for the replies everyone. I have made it to day 2, shall post there later on. I have got a nicorette inhalator, used it a couple of times yesterday for when I felt a bit desperate.
Another day, another battle, one which I am determined to win.
Good for you Wendy, take it one day at a time, just get trough today without smoking. Do you have any side efects with the Champex there is lots of us Champex users on here and we all seem to react differently, but we have stopped smoking so the side efects are worth putting up with.
hi good for you for trying again this is the first time i have tried i have smoked between 30 and 40 a day for about 15yrs so its tough going i am on champix and i got to day 9 on the champix and didnt think it was going to work then it kicked in i am only on day 4 of no smoking so i am very new to this but we can all support each other and get through this we can do be strong and be brave good luck take care xx keep me informed on how you are doing lynn
Sorry don't know anything about champex, I'm on NRT, patches and have a nicorette inhalator for if the cravings get really bad. I suppose whatever method we use we still have to use willpower and after so many years of smoking the habit is very hard to stop.
i am only on day 4 of no smoking so i am very new to this
Don't knock it Lynn, like you it's my first go at quitting, and after four days I though i'd done bloody well. Every day for the first week was like my birthday, I never dreamed I could go that long, but I did, and you can do it too, just sticking with people who've been there and done it helps loads. David.
