Day 6 and in a fix

Ok, not used to this non smoking weekend stuff. Just got the Monday to Friday work routine kicked into touch and now it's a whole new ball game to deal with.

Long bath I think and then to do something different!!

Sitting on here instead of having my after breakfast cigarette is a start!!!

:)

breaking the routine sure is tough but once you've mastered that you'll be fine. Keep it up. Now, when it comes to after food smoke time, I think what was I thinking? I can savour the taste of meal and a meal does not need to end with nicotine ... that's just a habit! It really does get easier - I promise! I can now sit at a table with others smoking after a meal and not mind - really! Go for a walk, run, knit, type, play a computer game, paint your nails, cook, do anything that takes your mind off of it over the weekend.

I found drinking things that tasted bad with fags before really good now. So line up the milkshakes, fruit juice, hot chocolate, soups or whatever you think clashed with smoking.

the first week is the hardest so you're almost there!

Hi Beccy :D

Weekends can be a bit hard to start with

Keeping busy helps but all work I found a mixture of work and fun things worked for me

Hi, find a way of getting on with the weekend, remember things you like to do that perhaps you didn't give time to before. Keep yourself busy and the weekend will hopefully fly by.

Once this weekend is over, there will be an awful lot of triggers that you will have conquered, some you'll be aware of, some you won't, but you should see a huge difference next weekend, your new non-smoking life and routines will become more natural and you won't have to think so much about filling in time or distracting yourself, you'll just find yourself doing stuff.

You've come so far, stick with it, it's worth it.

Have a nice weekend, do something that makes you smile.

I went for a bike ride this morning, which is certainly out of the norm for me! Go and do something different. It's working for me (kind of).

We smoked for so long and so many in a day that it can take a bit of time to learn the magic art of being alive and doing stuff without smoking. I think the week is well structured for many by going to work, easier not to think about the cigs. The weekend is when we get to do as we like, when we like, so takes a bit more dedication to keep the mind off them.

Best wishes, be kind to yourself this is your first weekend, don't worry, you can do this. Be proud you will have clocked up a week come tomorrow.

Nice one Beccy, get anything nice? Dinner with the ex-inlaws, how good are you, I need some proper convincing to dine with my in-laws!

Have a fantastic time, you deserve it. Get something nice in to treat yourself tomorrow for day 7, to celebrate both the end of the week and your first smoke free weekend

Enjoy,

I'm retired so weekends and weekdays are all the same to me. Same struggle for 7 days vs 2.

I'm trying to keep busy and as I may have posted elsewhere-I carry a plastic straw cut in half-I hold it like a cig and it really helps me keep my hands busy.
