Well done. Don't worry about the weight now. You've got it right - that's another issue for another day. Get the smoking sorted first and you can always deal with the weight later. Good luck and well done for the first four days - it does get easier

Amen on the weight. If it weren't for cheese doodles I would not have made it. I gained slightly more than 1 pound. Keep on adding days to the quit total. We are cheering you on.

hi and day 4

G'day from Australia.

I decided to use champix and am on day 4.

I start taking the second tablet this evening.

I am still smoking but not very many and am also not finishing cigarettes.

I feel something inside starting to change.

I desperately want this and am hoping it will work for me.

Cheers!

Hi Aussmoker :)

Day 4 that's great keep with it the champix is working as you're smoking less and not finishing them

It wont be long before you don't want to smoke at all and that's the time to stop OK

I also used champix to help and after 50+ years was finally able to quit having tried many ways and many times before with no success

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Cheers for that and the welcome.

I have just had my first day 4 second tablet.

I ate dinner about an hour ago and I delayed smoking so far.

I have a feeling that it is going to work okay for me because when I am having a smoke, I no longer smoke all of it and also I'm finding it harder to take puff after puff....a ways to go yet but I have a very good feeling about champix.

Thanks again,

Al.

I quit with Champix, and it really helped. You still need willpower as well but you sound like your head is in exactly the right place. Have you decided on a quit day yet?

Hi Aussmoker - congratulations on where you are now, sounds like you have made up your mind to do it.

I'm on day 5 now and I must say its not been as hard as I thought it would be. Keep posting on here, everyone is very supportive and many people are having great success with champix.

I've also found great help and inspiration from following the links in peoples sigs and reading the information there, especially about nicotine withdrawal.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing a lot of you on here, just post away, always someone around to encourage you. Vivienne.

Finding it harder and harder to keep puffing away is a good sign I'm glad you have a good feeling about the champix yes you have a little way to go yet but I think it won't be long before you stop completely

Also marg...I'm very excited about not feeling like smoking at all....I must say!

You're right to be excited at the thought of not feeling like smoking at all it's a great feeling to have

When I first started the champix I was nervous but it kicked in quickly and as I had set a date I forced myself to smoke the last couple of days

Now I tell people as I did you stop when you're ready to stop you'll know when that is Promise after all we're all different and so are our quits

Hi yeah, and thanks a lot for the encouragement you guys!

Day 5 here also. Just took my morning tablet...As I said, I am still smoking but about 4 - 5 a day and of those I simply can't smoke a full cigarette.

Yes, I have set a quit date. It is the first of December. :)
