Week 3 - Day 15 - Coming back from hell

I went through hell last Thursday and for 2 days, never have been at such a low point and craved for ciggies for the first time. went out on Friday night and didn't go anywhere near a death stick :D

there are so many changes in my life right now that I am amazed I am on day 15 and that is something I am proud of.....

I hope all of you starting week 3 are doing good and can't wait to hear from you :)

  • You should be proud of yourself!!! Day 15 is brilliant but sorry to hear you're getting bad cravings though, not sure why I'm not getting them but I'm sure they're waiting round the corner

Just keep doing what you're doing...one day at a time!

    Hi my love

I had some dodgy days last week, however since Friday they have been very limited and I feel much better. But just look at us two, day 15 how fantastic are we. Well done my love.

  • thank you JJ and Christine, it's great being here with you :D

I think the craving was more psychological than anything else, due to quite a high level of stress and lots of tears!

But I'm better now and looking forward to moving to week 4 soon :):):)

    Hey Corinne

You really are going through the changes right now but you are one amazingly strong lady. You can do anything you put your mind too...

  • Thank you Lorna... we are doing pretty well aren't we. never thought I'd make it this far and loving that feeling :D:D:D

  • Good on you. The cravings are psychological if you've been off nicotine for this long. It makes sense that when you feel low you want a boost and where did we all used to go to get it?? So, think of it not so much that you wanted a fag, but you just wanted to feel better. However, the logical part of ourselves (which is there thanks to Champix, as far as I am concerned) reminds us that actually smoking WON'T make it better. I hope this makes sense!

  • hey JJ, yes I am but I have to admit that I'm having another craving today and it is very strong... there are a lot of redundancies at the moment and my (ex) boyfriend applied for voluntary and told me today it was accepted and he's leaving tomorrow. we'd worked together for 5 years, loved each other for 4 and working together was probably our downfall... but I feel crushed at the thought he won't be around anymore :( we might try to get back together now :) but I could really do with a fag! I can hear all the little voices rationalising it and telling me it's ok, just one

  • Hello Frenchy

    GO FOR A BATH NOW!!

I want a ciggie (seriously I do) AND I have 20 unopened in the house and hubby is out and frankly no one will know!! HOWEVER I have not suffered for 16 days to give in, because I will have to give up at some stage it may as well be now.

Right off for a bath with you, why are you still reading GO!!

    Love & hugs

    Christine

  • :) ... thank you Christine, I did go for a bath earlier and don't worry, I won't do anything stupid. I need to learn how to cope with stressful situations when I'm home. So far it's been at work and it's been fairly easy, but at home I'm like a restless lion :o

this week has been difficult but I'll be damned if I fail! besides my 2 sons are supportive ... I probably need to buy a punching ball and put my manager's photo on it :p

thank you for your support though, boy I needed it :) and well done on being so strong with death sticks under the same roof

  • No problem my lovely!! I personally have just eaten so much food I do not believe I will make it up the stairs without a lift!! But hey you and I have not had a ciggie, I'm now fat and you're murderous but at least we are non smokers.:D (and have humour)

If I can help just let me know.

  • you just have, believe me, you have :D

  • Hi Corinne :D

You're doing really well but sorry to hear you've had a rough couple of days but you got through them well done

Ckick the bottom link in my signature for help with the psychological part of quitting but you'll have to scroll down a far way

    Love

  • noooooo Frenchy! A ciggie won't solve anything and you'll be so annoyed with yourself if you did...plus you'd be back to square one again :(

I had a bit of a problem with my son wednesday night...payments for his student room in Germany hadn't been going through and he'd had a letter saying he had to get out in 2 days  (he's got aspergers so is a bit of a mess organisational wise lol) Normally the first thing I would have done would be to light up but guess what, I sorted it all out without a fag!

Read some of the threads in month 1 and 2 and see how much easier they are finding it...it does get better!!!

Careful Frenchy.....stay strong love all these voices are all named "Nico", its the addiction talking nothing else. Tell them to b***er off!!!!

    You are doing amazing girl....x

  • hey guys... I'm feeling a lot more upbeat today, even had a chat with my neighbour, as a non smoker whilst he was smoking.

a friend of mine, heavy smoker, started Champix after I sold it to her and I'm really proud of her.

thanks again for your support, all of you, and in just a few days, on Monday, it's Month 1!! :D:D:D:D
