Soon be counting months not days or weeks and there's definitely something different about this quit!!
Am still craving but managing to draw out the times between having gum when thing are calm although I'm not stressing about that 'cos chewy won't kill me!
I'm hoping the worst of the physical symptoms are over now and as the thought of smoking makes me ick, it's just beating the rest of the mental side.
Here's to another smoke free week

Morning all,I have arrives into week 3 ...know don't how I got here but I'm here.
Still a bit spacey in the mornings but gets better as the day goes on.
Had my partner in crime smoking sister visit yesterday and didn't have to stand outside with her to smoke....and I was def not envious of her...smelly so and so.
Realise it's still early days and this quit ( my last) Am not getting complacent
Well done Gem by the way getting over your wobbles from last wk and coming back fighting
You are doing great Gemma, your first month won't be to far off
YAY thanks!!
Sorry you're not sleeping well again
Well hello Gem how clever are you. Look at you steaming thru the hard times. You are doing amazing, ok you might have your struggles but you are trying and that is all that counts. xxxx
YAY!!
It's not fun and not easy but in a way I'm glad 'cos if it was it might be tempting to have a bump and fail - knowing it can be b.loody hard makes me value my quit more!!

YAY welcome to week 3!!
Lol I was the worst for that last time - haven't been so bad this time round, *yet*!! Or am I just always spacey?
Oooh and that's fab, seeing her having a fag and not wanting to join her? Flipping brilliant!!

You're going to do it this time, I know it!!
Aww thanks it's nto been a barrel of laughs, lol but it's going to get better.
Looking good there Miss GL! AND Carol! Now all we need is Gem2 and we'll have all of our Three Supremes safely in Week 3!
*High fives*
Oooh yes, we 3 are storming - hope Gem can get on at some point!!
Still get that weird feeling - I don't want a fag, didn't like them when I smoked 30+ a day so won't like them any more now - but sort of an empty in my tummy feeling? Odd.

Very well done to you Gemma
Its sounds like you are doing a stirling job of keeping on top of the craves, and like you say, chewing gum wont hurt you! Getting to the stage where the thought of smoking makes you feel ill is good, I smelt someone having a fag over the weekend and it turned my stomach Keep on going Gemma, the months will start to fly by

Aww thanks!!
I'm trying to deal with the craves - han't been easy with a sore throat (my fault for eating "man crisps" :p) and the ulcers 'cos the gum irritates both *but* it's loads better than what smoking would do to me :eek:
Oh the smell is vile isn't it? So glad it makes you feel ick 'cos that's a huge step!! Used to like the smell of smoke, but again something flicked in my brain and it just smelled foul - even when I was smoking!!
I'll keep going and you keep blazing that trail for me
Thought I should let you all know tesco are doing little tubs of chopped coconut pieces....yummy if you like it and something to eat that's healthy and better than gum...

I know what you mean, I used to be like a Bisto kid, loved the smell of a freshly sparked fag, now it makes me want to vomit!

You're doing an absolutely fantastic job petal. It's brilliant to see your posts everyday, the way you are feeling that bit better with each day as well as your determination getting stronger all the time.
It is so inspiring and something that would encourage me no end if I were just setting out on a quit. Just think of all those people just browsing who you and the other January quitters may very well be helping to make that decision take the leap.
And another pat on the back for you and for Carolrose too :D:

My hand is getting sore now :D
Aww thanks Molly, that's lovely!! ((hugs))
I do hope my posts will be helpful - know other people's help me and hopefully people will see that it's not that bad (was absolutely terrified before I quit) and that all the odd things are normal!!
Anyone who is reading and wondering about stopping - do it!! There's nothing to lose at all
We got our head in the right place this time Gems, I can see you have, I just think of the smell of them and the taste and that's enough for any craving to not get the better of me, we will soon not be looking back and be wondering what all the fuss was keep going!! and well done to you!
Oooh we have
Think for me, forcing myself to smoke as "normal" (Kat's advice) was a good thing, rather than cut down or anything because it made me realise not only how flipping expensive it was but it got me to dislike it really fast as well!!
Still got no idea what brought it on, but one day I ended up very upset that I was smoking, smelling faggy (even I could smell it) and didn't have any choice in it.
Oooh and don't they just stink? And tasting all that burning stuff? No thank you!!
Yep I'm on the patches, sticking them under where my bra band goes so I look like a colour chart with the fading red bits *but* they don't irritate me or peel off like they do on my arm - and they gave me a dead arm feeling there
If I remember to take them off before bedtime, they're good, lol. Else it's odd nightmare time
