Day 7 of Champix

Hello everyone.

How we all doing?

Am weirdly not getting any cravings, kinda making myself smoke so that the champix works. Only having one or two a day though. I didn't think i would ever feel like this, almost forgetting that i smoke!

Any one else got the same feelings?

Hi

Sounds like Champix is kicking in. I went through it exactly the same - of sort of forcing myself to smoke (because that's what I did), but going for hours before remembering that I hadn't had one.

For the first week, I didn't think Champix was actually doing anything because cigarettes just seemed the same. It was a subtle change rather than an immediate revulsion. So without holding to a firm 'quit' date I just stopped on Day 13. Now into second week and it's not been anywhere near as difficult as I was expecting.

You'll know when you're ready, it varies from person to person - then decide not to buy a packet or put a cigarette in your mouth again. Good luck.

Gives me confidence to stop, this feels like the first time i will properly be able to stop (hae tried 6 0r 7 times!). Without the NRT this time too.

Did you eat lots?

How many weeks do you intend to take champix for?

What do u reckon will happen when the champix stops?
