Hello and welcome to the forums :)

Well done on your decision to quit :)

I read in another post that you are quitting using patches as you don't feel you can go CT. Hey - you quit whichever way you feel you need to quit. I firmly believe that reading about nicotine addiction and quitting helps (see the links in mine and others signature)

Also use this forum supporting others and being able to ask for support from others who have the same goal as you i.e. to quit smoking is the best help there can be.

Good luck with your quit and post to let us know how you are doing

Tinks xx

Hey Jo,

Fantastic decision to quit, well done on deciding to get rid of that horribal nicodemon in your head that tells you that you need to smoke!

We don't need to smoke and although we know not to we still do it so thinking about stopping is great but actually stopping is a great acheivement!

Thanks for your replies, this forum is fab!

I just feel I am setting such a bad example to my children even though I don't smoke in the house they have seen me smoking outside and the 4 year old had already started saying 'mummy has gone for a cigarette' - god I feel awful when he says that!

Hopefully I can stick at it!! I think when I gave up in pregnancy I was in the mindset that I was just giving up whilst I was pregnant and I could go back to it as soon as I'd had baby!!

Thanks for your postive support - looking forward to having a good look round this forum - just read a post on the 6month + forum and felt very positive after - hope thats me posting come June:p

Hey - just a suggestion but whay don't you list your reasons why you want to quit and post in the 'My Reasons' Section actually seeing why you want to quit may help you?

Today is day 1 and things will feel strange, you are going have one bumpy ride but will get there. Just deal with one day at a time, one crave at a time and remember this quit whilst is for your children is for you. This is something you have to do for yourself.

xx

Difficult is not impossible! Keep that in mind, dont let those Nicotine Devils try to convince you otherwise! You can do it, it will get better, it will get easier, dont give up! ;)
