When does Champix kick in??

Hello all,

I'm on day 5 of the Champix and still smoking at the moment and I was just wondering when it was for all you who have used Champix, that you finally lost your desire to smoke or the fags started to have a nasty taste or effect on you?

Suppose i'm getting impatient!

With me I noticed I didn't smoke as much around day 6 but smoked until day 8/9 and had to force myself to smoke the last couple of days

The fags tasted really nasty though and I was so pleased not to have to do it anymore and also the last day every one I had made me feel really sick and yukky I don't think I finished one all that day

So as you're on day 5 now it will really kick in especially when you start taking the higher dose within a couple of days you'll really notice the difference

I hope it does, although my Dad's stopped, he went all the way to day 14 before he stopped!! I don't want to take that long!

I have noticed the first one of the day isn't going down too well at the moment, i'm getting through half then going to get a cuppa instead!

Is it quite normal to be feeling weepy at day 5 too lol??

Have no idea why, but could just ball my eyes out today!

I might be wrong but...

Even on the champix you're nicotine levels probably have dropped, I'd think it might be nicotine withdrawal - through reduction that's doing it. Quite a few people feel very weepy as they stop or reduce their intake.

Yep feeling weepy is perfectly normal for a lot of us whatever we use to help

As far as you're Dad going the full 14 days before he stopped it doesn't mean you'll be the same after all we're all different even family members

My Son took it as well in fact it was he that told me about it I think he stopped around day 6/7 and stopped taking it after 7 weeks in total

I as I said stopped after day 8/9 ans stopped taking it after 8 weeks total as kept forgetting to take them
