Well i had my last fag at 10pm yesterday... so that means im just over 12 hours in !
Funnily enough this quit feels different, i feel calmer and in my head im thinking i can do it this time. Im not stressing and waiting for the craves to start like i have been in the past.
NOTE TO NEW QUITTERS - Every quit is different i have noticed that one.
Also can someone tell me if i am answering people correctly as all my replies have come up on my own post and i dont really know what im doing as im having a lovely oxygen overload .

12 hours in and light-headed - yep, I know how that feels! And that calm feeling you have, that sounds familiar too - it was very similar for me and I have stuck with it, so keep those positive thoughts.
Great to see you back here - keep strong, you can do it.

I hope your calm feeling lasts, it calmed down me a bit, too. What you and Deke say here means that people can stop smoking and feel calm at the same time. i've got to remember that for Sunday.
EBTG you give me hope. I was going to change my user name as I am so embarrased that I have failed to quit a couple of times already :o. However you seem to be fighting back against this addiction time and time again.
I am now 5 hours into my third attempt and feeling fairly calm. I have however just been to see the smoking cessation nurse, who frankly irritated me with her patronising comments (well it is hard) - or am I ratty cos I want a fag? who knows,
Anyway, I have been trying for about four weeks to find a way to stop that works for me and haven't given up trying yet.

Hi
I have had lots and lots of quit attempts, and for the majority of them i have stressed like mad before, during and probably after !!! This time i am trying my best to stay calm and focused and so far its working .

Hi
I know how you feel, but dont be embarrased to say you have failed in a quit attempt. I post on here every failure and success so people can see that whilst some do it first or second time around. Some of us dont and i have been trying to get my head around stopping smoking for about a year not just a few weeks with a few failed attempts.
I have stopped smoking before for a period of 10 years so i know it can be done. But nicotine is so powerful (apparently more addictive than heroin) so dont change your name, but above all else dont feel like a failure and dont give up. Someone on here once said to me you have only failed if you stop trying !!! I havnt and nor should any of you failed QUITTERS. People on here are great and supportive etc but we all know we have to do this for our selves.
