Hi All i am on day 26 and havent had my inhaler for 8 days now so nicotine free aswell, its all going well but i am having very sleepless nights, and was wondering if any one else does, i am getting up 4-5 times a night for no reason what so ever

Disturbed sleep is normal for us quitters caused by more oxygen in the blood and therefore the brain, but it doesn't last long

i hope it doesnt last long, as no matter what time i go alseep i am up all hours then takes me while to get back to sleep, so i am always tired, who would have thought all of this side affects would happend after quitting
I gave up on no smoking day aswell so I thought it was our 27th day today:confused:
Anyway well done you to have ditched the inhaltor. I've been having very poor nights sleep aswell and posted about that other day. I was told that cos nicotines a stimulant i should try taking the patches off a couple of hours before bed. I'm still wasking every hour which is tough when you got to be up bright and breezy with 2 kids 5 and 18 months.
Just probably body getting used to being free from all the crap we've been inhaling for years on end. Last time I quit I was so ill, I got tonsilitis and blocked lymph nodes whch made me very dizzy. Thankfully I've felt good this time round except for a sore throat, sleepless nights and increase in appetite!
I feel sooo much better not smoking though, skin clearer, teeth whiter and getting about loads better without feeling like my chests on fire.
Have to look into the insomnia thing see how I can get a better nights sleep yawn!!

my skin is getting better but last week got really bad i was ashamed to go out the door, my teeth are nice and white, and my chest dont feel like im going to collapse, but its just the sleeping any one got any ideas as to what can help me sleep,
Hi, bible black recommends some non addictive sleeping tablets. I will hunt around and see if I can find the name for you. I used my husbands snore cure! I had found that I had spent so long waking it became a habit. His snore cure was a pot of marjoram and one of lavender. Stopped his snoring and cured my sleeping! Once I had gotten a couple of good nights under my belt I was ok. Its rubbish though. I agree.
thanks for that, i will be straight down the chemist after work, i have been up since 4 and at work since 7 dont need to be in till 9. but just couldnt sleep, its making me really restless,

It does get easier. I didnt use remedies. I stopped eating and drinking caffeine after 8.00pm and just drank water. This did help and reduce the amount of times I was waking (remember to go to the toilet before turning in!!!!). I am in Month 2 now and the waking problem has gone, I do wake earlier but I think this is because I am having better quality sleep.
