My first day!

Hi everyone,

I've been ghosting this forum for about a week now and boy, you are all so supportive of eachother, its great!

I had my last cig at about midnight last night so have gone over 12 hours so far and feel not to bad to be honest:)

This is my 3rd attempt to quit in 2 1/2 years and I'd like to think I'll really do it this time as I've only ever managed to get to day five before I cave in.

Any tips and help would be great!

Thanks

Hi Lottie,

And welcome to the forum. As you say, they are a very supportive bunch here - I'm on day 10 now and I honestly don't think I'd have made it without 'em! Keep checking back and I know you will get help and tips aplenty from people with much more knowledge and experience than me.

Well done on making the decision to quit - and even better - you've acted on that decision.

Stay strong

Deke

Hi lottie,

Welcome to the forum, I had many failed attempts, this time feels so much different, and its all to do with the information and support provided by the others on this forum, Post when you need support and advice and pass it on to others in need! Supporting others, i have found, helps to reinforce why you quit. Be positive and remember, you are choosing not to smoke, you are not giving anything up!! xxx

Aww thanks you guys:)

Even though I'm feeling really optimistic now, I know I'm going to get that "down" feeling at some point and its great to know there are so many others out there in the same situation as me or that have been there before themselves.

I really want to do it this time!!! Think of all the shoes and clothes I can buy with the spare cash!:p

Well done on taking the action to quit, as you know this site is invaluable, i am on day 26 and believe i never ever dreamt i wld do this. marg is an inspiration with her support as is everyone else. linda on here advised me to take baby steps and not to think too far ahead, hour by hour and day by day and that really really helped me. i hope you manage as well as i have as i feel so confident and happy to be smoke free. i have had my ups and downs and wel 3 is the most irritating time for me but we all differ. positive thinking is fantastic and if you do feel the urge just reinforce the positive thoughts which help take the edge off things but overall be strong and good luck x
