Please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place....I'm new to all this.
I am on day 8 of Champix and my quit date is Sunday 29th March. Encouraged by my son and his girlfriend who both succeeded in stopping smoking back in October 2008. I am so proud of them both, and I envy their lovely fresh smelling clothes and hair !! I want that too. I am determined to quit and I am so glad I have found this forum, I feel I will get lots of support here. Thanks.

Hi wantostop welcome, this is a lovely friendly site and so helpful. Keep us upto date how you go on I was wanting to try champix this time round but not to be would be great to see how you get on as if I fail (dont intend to) I would like to try it X
Hey, a big thanks to all for the encouraging replies. That in itself should be a big incentive to beat this addiction. Trendy....I did have a fight on my hands to get Champix. My own GP wouldn't prescribe, saying he wasn't comfortable with side effects!!! However, another GP in the practice was more than happy to let me try it, on the condition I see her every two weeks and record any changes in my mood, etc. However, I believe you go through many mood swings giving up cold turkey anyway, and so I am prepared for it. I will not let my family down, and I hope I can become one of the many NON smokers on this forum. Margareth, I will check out these links thanks. Eileen, fionacox, anniem, trendy.........thank you and keep your fighting spirit. Love J.x
