It is now 3:57 a.m and I am officially a non smoker :).
I started smoking when I was in high school and now 7 years later I have finally given up for good.
Previously I have managed to stop for only one day about a year ago and I have since been struggling with this behaviour change.
Now I have finally decided to give it my best and make this change forever. I just smoked my last cigarette and I will not being going out again to my back garden for another one.
I have been looking around the internet for a support group and I came across this forum and decided to join and get on this path with all you amazing people.
Looking through the threads I can tell you are all part of something special, an amazing journey and now one more person has joined you guys
My commitment is to post on this forum everyday for one year to share my story and give support to all you guys.
Thank you for reading and looking forward to making this behaviour change stick.
All the best to everyone!

Congrats on your decision to quit and welcome to the board, take a look around read people signature links, lots and lots of great information to help you along, wisjh you all the best
Don't worry about it .... best time to quit is when you are ready mentally .... we have all done this countless times over the years, put a cig out the night before determined to wake up and not smoke ...trouble is your body hasn't had it's nicotine fix all night so when you wake up ...it is stronger than ever demanding you run to the garage for it's feed ............. i tried this loads of times .. then i thought, no i will save some for the morning, that way i will cope with the craves in the day as i would be busy at work( well my bosses think i am ).
It worked for me i had a smoke as normal, had another couple on the way to work, arrived at work, final one in the smoke shelter, then gave the rest of my cigs to a mate opposite me, Done that was it. Went through what everyone else was suffering with ...... and got through it ..... not saying this will work for you but sleeping all night with no patches for the morning was really hard i found.
good luck ...you obviously want to stop as you are here asking advise on how too. OK you had a setback, pick yourself up try again it is so worth it in the end .......
Braders thank you for the advice. It sounds like a good plan. If it worked for you then this is what I will do tomorrow as well..
I will buy a pack in the morning and go to work and by the time I come home I would have discarded the remaining ones. From then on I will have my inhalator to keep me going until I do not need any more nicotine.
Good luck for tomorrow. That's how I have started many of my quits. Had a couple when I got up ( my absolute worst time) one on the way to work & thats it then

Hey Jamangie,
Well the simple way of putting it is that no I haven't. I don't know why I just can't do it.
But on the other hand I feel I am making a good progress towards that day of me being a non smoker. Today I only smoked about 6-7 cigarettes instead of the 15 I usually smoke everyday.
I feel a bit down that I am not able to stop completely but I know that day is fast approaching.
Sorry I wasn't able to get online this morning, my internet has been down all day but I will keep everyone updated.
Thank you also to Gaynor, Kit Kat and Bradders.. Your support is very kindly appreciated.
I have very many days when I say tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.
Friends on hear have heard me say that after a 3 month quit that took me six weeks or so to get back on to.
We are all here, whenever so dont stop posting. This lost have seen my 'last day 1 quit' many a time  What i am saying is they are all still with me so kepp posting whatever you fell wherever you are. We are all here no matter what ok?
stop saying tomorrow, say now, have last cig, grit teeth & do it. The scariest part of a quit for me is having the last one & doing it. You can & you will, when ur ready & so will we be
Hi jason i agree with gaynor..you can go on forever saying tomorrow..Youve just got to think ill try a full day without smoking,,,,thinking wot the worse that can happen is you will be craving ..but the thought in your head of how bad it will be ..isnt quite the same wen your living it.....In other words its possible ....go for it
