Yes i know thats tomorrow but need some support. Anyone recently quit or about to quite???
Me: And, 31, smoking for 15 years, 30 per day. I KNOW it will be better without as I have stopped for 8 months before. just need to get over the first 3 weeks and would love to chat.
Anyone keen to stop in the next few weeks can use me as a guinea pig to see how things go. Symptoms, cravings - how I deal with it I can help... if you help!
thanks
A

Excellent news, you're making a great decision! I'm on Day 2, cold turkey.
Yesterday was okay but today (especically the past 3 hours) has felt like one big crave. BUT, rather than fighting it and getting anxious/annoyed/angry am just letting it happen, letting it wash over me. And it seems to work. As does knowing that tomorrow even more of this damn nicotine will be out of my system.
How are you quitting? I can't really recommend any particular method, but do read the websites Marg recommends as they really are great. You need to re-educate yourself about smoking whichever way you choose to quit. Thinking differently about smoking gives you the strength to ride through the physical and psychological cravings (I hope!! )
Good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how you're getting on, am sure I'll be doing the same..

Put out my last cig at lunchtime on Friday. Since then the toughest time was a few hours later during that evening. I was irritable (even more than usual!) and time seemed to drag. Had the shakes too - all-in-all a bit spaced out, like you say.
But I got through it. Sounds like you're having a bit of a time of it this pm - but keep it up. You will feel so good for getting through today. Get your first day sorted and take care of tomorrow when it gets here!
Let us know how you are doing.
Hi Ands,
as a recent quitter I'd like to join the "Doing Fine Since March '09" group too. A bit of mutual support with people at the same sort of level helps no end.
