How time fly's! Can't believe i've made it this far!

Went to get more Zyban from the nurse on Friday. She was all like yeah your doing well... well the hard bit is when you start to come off... This kinda made me worried that as soon as i come off Zyban i'll start smoking again? Maybe i just took it the wrong way, who knows.

Anyhoo just wanted to let you all know i'm still going :)

Don't worry too much about coming off the treatment just yet.

You can be weaned off the pills over time starting from 10 weeks so 6 more weeks to go yet.....

Hows the sleeping going?

Hi Dan 88 :D

1 month tomorrow is great well done you

As Rebecca said don't worry yet about coming off I used Champix and after forgetting to take for 2/3 days at a time stopped taking them and had no problems at all

Yes maybe you did take it the wrong way but whichever it was unprofessional don't think she should have said it she should have known this might worry you and am sure you won't start again

I still wake up quite a bit and never seem to get a decent sleep, unless i get a good 12 hours in bed that is haha. Bring on the weekend! On the up side i've been out a few times now since quitting and drinking hasn't bothered me at all! I never realised how strong the smell was before. If one of my friends has a fag around me it really gets stuck in the back of my throat and nose, not pleasant!

I've also managed to convince my manager to quit she has already been to the docs and started on Champix her quit date was Friday just gone. Also put the idea into a few other peoples heads :D

How are you finding Champix?

Thanks i'm feeling pretty confident and i keep forgetting to take the one in the afternoon which could be a good sign.

I think the nurse saw me as a young lad wasting her time to be honest, i got the same impression from my doctor. It's all made me more determined to rub it in their faces!

Congrats on the month!

Well it doesn't really matter what method you use to stop smoking, staying stopped is about not wanting to smoke again.

If you feel like you have made some great sacrifice and are depriving yourself of a great pleasure then resisting is hard.

Understanding why you smoked, and how nicotine addiction works is IMHO the best way to get your mind straight, and stay stopped.

Have a browse through the links in my sig for more more info.

All the best

Nic

Hi Dan88

That's it Dan you show 'em and when you've done give them both a good telling of {being polite here}

Forgetting to take the afternoon one must be a good sign and as long as you feel OK don't worry about it I think Zyban & Champix both work the same way so you sgould be OK just my opinion though Like I said I kept forgetting mine as well

Broken sleep seems to be the norm for us quitters especially in the early part of it but it will get better I promise

Love

How are you finding Champix?

Doing great on champix ta, halfed my dose a while back, not intentional at first just forgot the second dose for a few days without any effect so continued on one a morning only and have been fine.

Had a wobbly night 2 fridays ago when i forgot the whole dose on the thursday and felt frustrated and annoyed that i was 'missing' it. I posted on here and went to bed. Thats been the only time i've felt the absence of smoking so the course has been a great success for me so far. My mental attitude is much stronger this time as well. Smoking again is NOT an option.

Glad your still on board the no smoking train Dan!!. :D
