Hi Phillip
You have done so well - nicotine free since 5th, thats pretty damn good mate, so tell yourself that you can still enjoy yourself without the fags! - have a great night, and just think you wont have to go out in the cold and probably rain to 'enjoy' that fag. Cant give advice on the alcohol thing, as I dont drink - but I am sure that lots of people will give you good tips on how to cope with tonight.
Have fun and remember your first nicotine night out - and post tomorrow to let others know what worked for you.
Take care - have a great night out with your wife
Sorry Phil - meant to type NICOTINE FREE night out - old age creeping up on me i think x
Hi Phil
Another first eh you have already beaten the pub thing when you worked all night without a crave
So what I do although not a big drinker [not suggesting you are] I do enjoy the odd night out with the girls when we have a drink even now I just have one or at most two alcoholic drinks then switch to soft ones much safer for us EX SMOKERS If going by car do the driving yourself HA HA
Enjoy the night out with your wife and let us know how you get on
Love

Stay reasonably sober, accept that drinking is a trigger, and that there will probably be the desire to smoke but stay resolute and stick to your decision not to smoke.
The cravings may happen, if they do the way to deal with them is to just not give in. Over time they give up trying but the more thought you give to them the more they take hold.
Have a good time
Nic
I was dreading the drinking/going out side of it as I was convinced I couldn't enjoy my night out without cigarettes.
However, I have been out/drinking twice since quitting and although it's hard, I just keep reminding myself why I don't want to smoke and I use my inhalator...I also remind myself how I won't feel as crap the next day - coughing, wheezing and generally feeling ill!
I must admit though I tended to drink more, maybe I was filling a void
Try and hang around with people who don't smoke if you can.
Good Luck!
