My username is appropriate with me being human and all. Besides, I have decided to forgive myself for getting caught back up in this horrid addiction - I have dealt with many difficult things over the past 2 years and have had good success in most areas.
Here is where I have failed.
Only now do I truly understand the term "It is so easy that you went back?†Yes - complacency and a touch of arrogance (the attitude that you can quit whenever you like, so why not enjoy another?).
Well, I slipped again and so think that I must humble myself and do this by the book.
I suspect that the real battle will be in the long term, but I am here to share tips and hopefully learn a few things along the way.
Day 1 it is.

Welcome and congratulations on your arrival at Day 1.
Yip, I agree, we are all "Only Human" but we are capable of great things, so why is quitting smoking such a challenge? We all know the answer to that; it's a dirty rotten drug that robs us of our own free will!
Well, I for one, don't intend to let that happen any more
Good luck, this a great forum, and you will find lots of advice and support here

I'm coming uo to two weeks soon and all I can say with cold turkey is watch out for day 3, I started on the full strength pathches and gum but when I used them they weren't giving me enough relief and it made my cravings worse so decided to use nothing, first two days great! I had read about it taking 72 hours, boy!!! did I find out the next day wish I'd been prepared for it my worse day ever, I got through it, got in from work and took my self to bed until the next day, back to the water, that's good it helps. I had a hair cut last week, to give me a boost, bought a new hand bag, and two blouses this weekend and still have money left, treat yourself with what you would have spent on ciggies, that helps as well.
Your in the right place for support it helps lots to know others are doing the same Im doing it ct this time but what ever method you use as long as you dont smoke thats the ticket. linda xxxxxxxxxx

I'm no expert, but it you mean 'How can I post a new thread?', then, if you look towards the bottom of the page(I think) you'll find a blue 'POST NEW THREAD' button.
I am also new to this no smoking milarky - gave up on the 12th and have used my reading of all your woes and humour to get through my first three days. The first two I dare not join in with any of you as I felt inhuman but just reading what we are all jointly going through has helped me immensly. Keep at it and don't beat yourself up for any of the feelings your experiencing and especially if you have not already read the testiment from the guy who completed a year on the 12th
