Hi everyone,

I have just joined the website and already find it really helpful.

I've been smoking for about 11 years properly now (but did have a few before that too) and decided to give up.

This is Day 2 and so far i have found it really easy but i know this feeling wont last and think i will struggle on days 3 and 4.

I was told about this website yesterday by somebody who called me from the Together Programme and thought i'd have a look. I really do think it will help me when times get hard.

Good Luck everyone, fingers crossed :D

Hi Nicky

Congrats for making the decision and welcome to the forum!

Some people find quitting very easy, a lot of it is in the mind, so if you expect to find days 3&4 bad then you probably will. However, if you go into them with the attitude that you can and will find them as easy as the others then there is a fair chance they won't be anywhere near as tough!

Just don't smoke and the more time you put between now and your last smoke the easier it will become to resist the desire to smoke.

All the best

Nic

Thanks for all the support guys :)

i will definitly have a look at those links.

The reason i think days 3 and 4 will be bad is because i have tried to stop smoking in the past and found those days in particular difficult but this time i have decided to do things to keep my mind off smoking on those days e.g tomorow is red nose day so i'll be far too busy laughing at the t.v all night and at the weekend i have decided to catch up on some housework, also friends have leant me some DVD's to watch. I find T.V a great distraction as i dont smoke in the house and so if i'm comfortable on the couch watching good t.v i wouldnt want to leave in fear of missing anything lol :)
