Have gone from 15 - 20 a day...over a 2week period, have cut down to 2 a day.

Today is first day with 0... not too bad all day, but suffering after dinner!!

Thinking possitive :)..

Trying not to use Nrt.

Anyone else using the 'cut down & stop ' method?

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :)

Hi there and welcome!

Well done on your 1st cig free day!

The cut down method does work for some people but it is generally regarded as a long lingering way to quit.

The good thing as far as you are concerned is that you gave now quit, and all the nicotine will be out of your system in a couple of days.

Reading the links that Marg posted will help get the mindset sorted, and remember that quitting is not a sacrifice, its gaining so much.

Hi Ytene

Well done on making the best decision ever and that is to stop smoking.

Day 1 is a great start and you have almost done it now hun, just keep choosing not to smoke and you will be at the end of the first week before you know it.

You will soon be feeling the benefits of kicking the habit.
