Was my 9th day yesterday and after a row with my boyfriend I went out and bought 20 cigarettes. Smoked 6 between 5 and 9pm then threw the packet away. Just put another patch on and i'm feeling a bit better but I feel so bad about it, especially having to start all over again now. Didn't solve anything

don't feel too bad Lea, most of us have done the same for whatever reason on more than one occasion and although you have to start back on day 1 from my experience the withdrawal shouldn't be as bad as the first time if you only have 5 or 6.
just to add to that... try not to make the same mistake I've made many times and think, 'oh sod it I've done it now' and keep on smoking the pack and really being back to square 1 again!
I can imagine how angry and disappointed you are in yourself at the moment on your 9th day you have a row with boyfriend and buy a pkt but you learned a valuable lesson that it didn't solve anything and only really hurt you but you threw away a more that 1/2 full pkt at least that's good
Keep using the patches for a few days intil you feel on an even keel again and then you must
Pick yourself up dust yourself down and start all over again and we will still be here to help you all we can
I had a slip on day 10..... it is much easier to keep smoking after a slip but you threw them away..... good for you. You're right.... smoking doesn't really solve anything....... wish I could have believed that the last 18 years I smoked! I believe it now is all that matters. Hang in there!!!

I don't know if you have read the Junkie Thinking list, its been posted a few times by various people.
I know that on previous attempts I've used several of them to justify a relapse. Its worth a read, so you are armed for next time, nicotine tries its nasty games on you.
I've noticed this time round that i'm no longer missing the hand to mouth action anymore, also the cravings don't seem to come as often or as strong either. Quite pleased about that. The only time I find it difficult is if i'm studying, as I often used to have a cigarette when writing essays or reading. But ihave a lollipop instead and this seems to work!
