Well done John
This place has been a major part of many peoples lives after they have made one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
You have played a large part in making this forum a fun, as well as an informative place to be.
You have banged the Education drum louder than any other.
Today John if I wore a hat I would tip it in your direction.
You are the person
CONGRATULATIONS;)
Yeah, what he said, with bells on. ;)
John, you are one of the people on here that helped me reach my one year anniversary!

Hello John,
It's really good to know that you are still here. Just having a quick browse this morning, I note that Gary's still about as well.
Hasn't this year flown!!
Very well done ... your links and research have really been a terrific help to so many

Thanks very much ChicknHun for the thread and to the others for your well wishes!!
The last year has been a brilliant journey and i dont think i would have made it as easily as i did without the "distractions" of the forum and the support and friendship of the people i have met here. Sharing this journey with you has been an absolute pleasure
The quit itself i found to be far easier than i could ever have hoped it would be. Probably because i discovered whyquit, which gave me the understanding i needed to help me stay quit and then Catwoman introduced me to Woofmang which has some of the best and most insprational stories to help when times got a bit tougher.
I have enjoyed my time on the forum, although i have not posted as much in the second 6 months as i did the first 6.
To all the new quitters, the time goes by a lot faster than expected and the "I'd like a cigarette" moments become fewer and fewer and also very easy to deal with so stick with it.
I was a commited smoker for 30 years and never thought i would be able to quit. With the help of Mr Carr (Easyway), whyquit and my friends on here, quitting was far easier than it is made out to be and i would say to everyone, stick with it because it gets much easier to say no, further down the road.
One other thing, when i stopped i decided to save what i would have spent on cigarettes, because no matter what, i always found the money to smoke.
A year down the line, i have a nice wee ISA going as well as a 42" Sony HD TV and a Bluray player, all from my quit smoking money . A worthwhile "side effect" of quitting.
To all the newbies:
READ READ READ!!!!!!!! Because Understanding really is the secret to a successful quit
John - Nicotine Free for One Year, 1 Hour and 36 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 31 Days and 18 Hours, by avoiding the use of 9152 cigarettes that would have cost me £2,414.40:eek:.
Well done John would like to sit here blowing kisses up your rear end, but so many have already done so:rolleyes:
All there is to say is Thanks.
Nice Work
Mark
Thanks Catwoman
we did have fun. ;)
(I miss those days:D)

Well outted, Gary
It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to watch all these names tick off the “one year down†box. I think this forum is starting to achieve quit rates that the NHS could only dream of, although I might be a little biased.
Well done sir, you’ve flown the flag with pride and I too salute your achievement.

Hi Austin
Well said The NHS no smoking support is laughable did nothing for me at all
think my 2 year old grandson would have been more use
Thankgod for this forum
Marg
Well done on reaching a year-truly awesome!
Can only repeat what eveyone else has said-this forum is a Godsend-wouldn't have got to 5 months (nearly) without it. Moreover, I just know that because of all the help, support and most importantly EDUCATION I have received on here, I'll never smoke again.
People ticking the one year box are a real inspiration and what I find best of all right now is that No Smoking Day 2009 will soon be here (March 11th I believe) and those of us already here can welcome loads of newbies and (hopefully) continue the cycle.
Well done everyone-wherever you are in your quit, for having the guts to try and quit in the first place.
Fantastic going John,I knew when you Joined you would make it.
You always kept your head into your quit ......
Yet another from a year ago, well done John, i was around when you were having those mankini fights with Maddy, hope all is well !
Congrats
Congratulations, John! I was sort of tapering off here when you came on, but every time I drop by I see your entries. You've helped a lot of people.
Congratulations!
