G'Day Mates.... lol

So here we are at Day 11... Just saw my Mom.... she has Alzheimer's (also happens to be my last living relative.... my Dad died 10 years ago... and I have no sisters/brothers, etc.... not even cousins... sounds freaky I know.... but some people's families/clans just get wiped out...).... and she smokes.... which makes it hard for me... and her condition (when she has a bad day) has frequently caused me to start smoking again or rather never stop... Anyway she was smoking on the balcony and smelled realy badly of smoke... I thought I would relapse at the scent... but NOTHING happened... and it was fine.... hope this is a sign of good things to come....

HANG IN THERE EVERYONE!!!

Hi Steve - Congratulations - Day 11 for me too. That must have been a surprise when one of your 'triggers' didn't make you want one. You must be getting a lot stronger now - I think I am too. I'm sure it will slap me down tomorrow now I've said that and I'll be chewing the sofa again but I kind of think it won't. Do you feel like that? Like it's over now and it's never coming back in your life?

Hi Steve - I am sorry to hear about your mum. I do understand how hard it is having a parent with Alzheimer's. My father died with it 15 years ago aged just 54.

The thing is, it is easy to give yourself an excuse to have a ciggie when you are having a tough time but remember that having a ciggie won't solve anything and it certainly won't give you the strength you need.

You sound like you are a really strong kind of person - the type we need on this forum!!

Take care x

Well done Steve, I find when my wife comes back in after a smoke she smells like she's been at a bonfire, not appealing at all:eek:

Jerry_Lee - my God 54 is FAR too young for AZ... only 1% of people would get it that earlier... My Mom is almost 80... I am so sorry to hear about your dad....
