Just for the record, this is my new room now as I reached the 3 month mark yesterday. I feel considerably better following my battle in the last week and got to thinking I'll maybe give the site a miss for a wee while. Sometimes ****yzing my addiction can fuel a desire to smoke (my opinion only) and I need cooling off time to gain personal mental strength. This was also the case when I joined AA and it done my nut becoming so involved within the first year, I almost drank again. I celebrate 20 years teetotal this Friday as a result and feel I'm overdoing the enthusiasm of quitting smoking, so maybe I need to apply the same theory and live a bit without constant reminders. I hope everyone else is doing well and continue to do so and will look in from time to time and say hello.
All the very best to you all!!!
Peter.

After the initial "Buzz" of giving up, sometimes it is harder to keep associating with people that are quitting and it's a good idea to take a step back and concentrate on your quit.
Everyone needs different levels of support and you sound like you know yours, good luck with your quit, 3 months is a great achievement!
I know that some people do find this place a constant reminder, which can work in 2 ways, keeping you focused or preventing you from letting go of the addiction.
Congrats on your three months and Im so pleased your feeling better this week. You must do what is right for you but i do hope you pop in from time to time to let us know how you are. Also a very big CONGRATS on your 20 years dry TOTAL STAR. Linda xxxxxxxxxxxx
