Would I smoke again

A tough one!!

After 16 months the urge is still there if I so desire!

I would NOT smoke again, but if I were weak it could be easy to go there again.

I would not, but one could???

16 months is no mean feat!

I've learned enough to know that it doesn't matter whether its 6 weeks, 6 months or 16 months you can't ever let your guard down.

Only a puff away from a pack a day!

Cheers

Nic

It's sad isn't it? Even though we make that conscious decision and all that effort to quit, are we ever totally free??

This is the one thing that does worry me for the future!:(

Well done for your 16 months of quitting though, fantastic!!

We are always free to make up our own minds as to whether we want to smoke or not.:D

Indeed, we may never be free of our addiction - but we can make a free choice about whether or not we smoke. So yes, we are free - as long as we choose to remain so.

When we were non-smokers we made a conscious decision to start. It didn't happen by accident.

Now we have decided to quit with a conscious decision and we continue to deny the urges by saying no - again with a conscious decision.

There is nothing to stop us doing the same thing as many times as it takes. From what I understand, in a few years time we can expect the occasional urge... but so occasional that it takes us truly by surprise. I am going to find saying no to that very rewarding, I think.

I fully intend to lay on my death bed as a very old man and congratulate myself for finally reaching my goal - of not smoking for the rest of my life.

Congratulations on 16 months Zip. Well done :)

I think we will always have that "Nag" in the back of our mind, after all its been part of our lives for so long, how can it not be.

Im coming to the end of week 7 and those feelings are becoming fewer!

I still get a thought but thats all it is, just a memory of a past life!

I concentrate on why Im doing it and what benefits there will be and are already,Ive noticed several changes In myself,My Skin is clear and fresh looking,my teeth are Brighter,my tongue is clean, and wonders of wonders! My I.B.S seems to be getting better:D

Smoking is a mugs game,I was a mug for many years,I am certainly not going to let one fleeting thought ruin my quit;)
