:oI'm into double figures, all I need now is to get a good nights sleep, well at least I know what's causing it, but I still can't wait for my normal sleeping pattern to return.

Fantastic, the sleep issue will sort itself out. Some people have used Kalms I think as a temporary measure.
Hang in in there you'll be counting in months before you know it.
Cheers

I can't remember when I first woke up and thought just how good a nights sleep I had... but I'm pretty certain it was before 2 weeks. Can't remember the last time before that that I felt so refreshed. I just remember waking up feeling fantastic and so well rested - for the first time in many years... just hang on in there and your body will sort itself out.
You're doing great, and day 10 is a big milestone - well done.
Well done scooby doo keep up the good work
hi, im new to the forum
:).........im on day ten of no smoking ( 30 rollies a day for 25years ) and was wondering if anyone could tell me why i keep waking up in the night, i have no probs nodding off but it is unusual for me to wake up.........is the 'no fags' ??
hi krismatt,
dont worry, although very frustrating, this is very normal. i had the exact same thing for a nearly 2 weeks, I would wake up several times a night absolutely soaked with sweat (nasty i know).
it seems to have sorted its self out now but I do recommend something like kalms or in my case, non-alcoholic beer (the hops is relaxing) as I'm in africa at the moment and cant get hold of any kalms.
hopefully it wont last much longer for you, dont give up, it will pass soon enough.
cheers
Mike
Indeed, the restless nights will pass and you will be sleeping better than ever.
It will pass - and is a perfectly normal part of the quitting process.
Agree - Sleeping is a problem
I am entering week two today - I woke at 4.30 this morning, lay awake till 5.30 then got up and headed to the office. Got 2 hours of work done before another soul arrived.
I have also had bizarre and seemingly very real dreams during the last week so its not just the tablets. Feel great though....
Good Luck everyone
It must be related to the nicotine leaving the system, surely? If you get them regardless of which method you use to help your quit, even with CT, can't think of any other reason. Bizarre is not the word for some of the dreams and they seem so real!!

The generally accepted reason is that there is more oxygen reaching the brain, so it is more active. The dreams also occur when on NRT so would not be nicotine related.
