8 Weeks and feel dreadful.

Hello my name is Trevrev aka Trevor, I'm new to the forum because i'm at my wits end. I don't crave anymore, and I 100% don't want to smoke anymore !!!! I don't even think about smoking but i'm having a right time of it.

It may be a coincidence, I went through the first couple of weeks from hell but it got better very quickly because i'd made up my mind. But after that couple of weeks was over i've just felt shabbing, rundown ever since and i'm picking up every bug thats around at the moment. I won't tell you how I feel right now, but it ain't good. Is this a side effect of stopping? and if it is how long will it last? Has anyone else been or, are going through this?

If the way that i'm feeling is a side effect from quitting then it proves how bad the drug is to make someone feel this horrid. Like I say, it may just be a coincidence. Your views will be very welcome...............Many thanks, Trevor.

Hi Trev and welcome,

Well done on getting to 8 weeks! :)

I am sorry you are feeling so dreadful. I am no expert but would recommend a wee visit to the docs as a check up may be in order.

It is probably just a coincidence. When I first stopped I used to blame everything on my quit. Now I just say, "Ah, well, that would probably still have happened even if I had still been smoking"

Hello trev

on the many occasions i quit before this final quit i have got sick for a while while my body adjusted

nasal infections and chest infections, colds and goodness knows what else

I do feel it is part of quitting, a multi vitamin will help to perk you up but a trip to the docs would not hurt either

you will soon be fighting fit again, stick with your quit as you have come such a long way

well done
