Hi Annette, I gave up with the help of Champix on 14th Feb. It's not the miracle drug I was hoping for (i.e. I hoped it would be dead easy and I would feel no pain at all) but you still need will-power and determination and be totally ready to give up. Having said that, it must be working as I'm not really a strong and determined person so probably could not have stopped without it!!
Haven't had any side effects apart from the wierd dreams but have been feeling really tired lately so have cut down my dosage. Am still knackered for some reason but also still not in any danger of smoking! Would recommend it to anybody.
Caroline
PS Congrats on your quit - cold turkey too!

hi annette,
I'm taking champix - only on day 3 but much easier
than my last cold turkey attempt
I'm only on a half dosage (0.5 mg x2 a day) as I couldn't
tolerate the full 1mg tabs (I'm only a little person!!)..
Not had any side effects - yet - so recommend it..
lots of luck
Nicky
I have been on Champix for about 8 weeks now (Took it for a week before I quit) I think it is the best quitting aid so far.
I found the first 6 weeks or so fairy easy, but have started to struggle recently
I don't think that's to do with the Champix though, as I have always found stopping quite easy, it's the staying stopped that's hard for me :(
I'm going to start reading Alan Carr and Andy Marshall again tomorrow. I just need to get some points cemented into my thick skull. Thought I'd done that already but I guess not.
Barbara, you seem to be struggling. Could it be the clocks changing?
Could be, who knows? I seem to have gotten over Wednesday night (which was about the worst for me so far) Feeling much better this sunny Friday
Ditto....I find it easy to get quite a bit of time too but it's the staying stopped that's the problem
Want to make a deal, Robert? See who can stop the longest??? - Go on, I'm challenging you here, now you wouldn't want to be lose to a mere female, would you? A granny at that???
Ok your on.....what does the winner get by the way
Errrrr *thinks furiously* emmmmmm *think, woman - THINK!*
Satisfaction in a job well done?
Actually, I'm hoping there won't be a winner, or a loser here.
This is a great idea, Robert (clever me :D)
Next time Ol Nic (Or the great big snake!) whispers in my ear, I KNOW I have to fight him extra hard.......cos I promise I will never ever give in and let you win !!!
