Well its my second week on Champix. First week was great, within 4 days I was smoking less than 10 a day (I was a 30 per day girl). Feeling chuffed I saw the smoking nurse on Monday (day 8) and decided to stop then and there. All was well until Wednesday night. Dreams, lack of sleep, indigestion, bad mood and stuffing my face like I hadn't eaten for years
Thursday I had a puff
Friday I smoked 2 :mad::mad:
Now its Saturday morning and before I loose the plot completely I need to re focus on why I so badly want to stop.
For 42 years I have smoked. I was a child the last time I was smoke free and I can't remember how that felt. I do know that I'm sick of being driven by 20 white sticks sitting snug inside a glossy cardboard packet
Sorry for such a rambling long first post but whilst I have support from F&F's none of them are going through it and I feel very alone with my thoughts atm.

I know exactly where you are coming from, the last time i was a non smoker was when i was a little girl.
You got to week 2 hun without a ciggy so you know you can do it, it is a hard habit to break hun but you can and will.
I have found this forum a huge help, so what i would suggest is you read all the links in Nics signature as they will change the way you think of ciggys, rather then something you feel you are depriving yourself off to something that will poison and destroy your body.
Post on here every time you have a craving and i guarantee that it will help, the people on here are so supportive as they have all been in our shoes.
I would forget about the 2 ciggys you had yesterday and start today on the right road.
The lack of sleep, bad moods, stuffing face are something we all seem to go through hun.
I didn't use Champix but I think that you need to as you say re-focus and actually stop. The champix is an aid but you need to stop, if you wish to stay quit then you need to try and change the way you think of smoking all that champix does it to reduce the physical desire to smoke. You need to tackle the psychological addiction.
Try to regard quitting as positive gaining process, taking back control, gaining better health and wealth etc. If you regard quitting as depriving yourself of a great pleasure then you will find it much harder.
There are links in my signature which are worth reading to and will inspire, inform and possibly shock you, but they will help you develop the right mental attitude to quit for good.
welcome to the forum sorry you are struggling but stick with and it will get easier i also quit with champix as did my son nothing else ever worked for me keep going you will get there
you need to take it a bit at a time. It is hard at first but it gets easyer and with the support here it will help because we all know whats happening and how you feel. It can be done i smoked for 35 years 40 a day at the end. Keep posting.xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I've smoked for 35 years and I found that the thought of stopping was actually worse than stopping itself. I thought you were meant to keep smoking on Champix until you didn't want to smoke anymore so tell yourself you haven't got to that stage yet and start again and don't beat yourself up over it.
Every time I get the craving I give myself a good talking to telling myself the reasons why I have given up. It's a battle with your thoughts so try not to let them nasty nicotine craving thoughts get the better of you!

Hi Wolfy and very well done on day 40 that is great
I just had a quick look at the side effects for champix and can not see that forgetfulness is one of them, mood swings do seem to be though. I am sure someone will come along soon that knows more about champix
Maybe you could try coming of them now and see how you go, not sure if this should be done gradually or not, something you will need to discuss with your GP.
Well done on your 40 days. To be honest felt down myself about the same time but it did pass. Cant tell you anything about the champix tho. Dont be sutch a stranger. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Wolfy
I was going to use Champix but I changed my mind as I read that they can make you depressed, don't know about the loss of memory though but maybe you should speak to your doc about you feeling low.
