Smoker for 18 years (30 a day) with a bit of stop and starting here and there as you do..
Decided at New Year that it was time to stop this bad habit, but didn't want to do it as a resolution, so looked for No Smoking Day and here I am last cig last night at 11.00.
Since New Year have been compiling a list of reason to not smoking or to smoke
Reasons not to smoke - EXTREMELY bad for my health, expensive, makes me smell bad, stains my fingers, feel like a mug, only smoke in the garden (since New Year) and its cold out there, feels anti-social to pop out for a fag, nearly all my friends don't smoke (feel there pity), my teeth are yellow, I get tingling and numbness in my hands because of the constriction of the veins, I cough like an old crow, I don't like being a failure its my body and I WANT CONTROL, I feel my childrens disapproval, I know the taste of my food is lacking (I love food), money spent on ruined clothes, decorating and furniture throughout the years, would like to live as long as possible, have a weird burning rubber taste in my mouth and I'm sure my facial muscles around my mouth are overworked from sucking on the "coffin nail"
Reasons to smoke - ?
That sort of sums me up at the moment

I have been quit for 2 Months, 1 Week, 4 Days, 13 hours and 12 seconds (71 days). I have saved £324.07 by not smoking 1,430 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 23 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 01/01/2008 00:05
Been shopping to Tesco.... enviously viewed the cigs counter .... walked away feeling smug... and very left out...
I have the most banging headache and my poor eyes feel like I have washed them in bleach... that damn little smoking devil is sitting on my shoulder poking me.
I'm going to take the dog out and drown the little smoking devil in the River Ribble.
Been 2 years since I last gave up, I had forgotten how hard it is, this is the last time no going back.

I am a non-smoker - support needed ASAP
Hope you had a good walk, and cleared your eyes, head and anything else that was clogged, and made sure it wasnt the dog u threw in the ribble.
Now you just have to find something else to do till bed time
I now clean the kitchen whilst on a long phone call instead of sittin in sun lounge puffin away - hubbys pleased, means me and the kitchen smell better.

sounds like yr going thru same as me (1st day) - my head exploding, feel SO ILL - keep thinking "thought this was sposed to make me feel betta?!?!?"
haven't dared go out, zero will power!!
can't "keep busy" cos can barely move for my brains hitting my skull
though did take dogs out for long walk wh cleared head temporarily..
can't wait to go back to bed...
but not given in to the Monster and have no intention of doing so..
Back from walking the dog still have headache etc, but feel better in myself.
I'm going to busy myself with sorting out tea by making something different from a cook book. Wish I had thought of this earlier before shopping could have bought the ingredients lol
Will work with what I have and let my imagination loose.... this should be fun.. I wonder what I can make for the family..
