I just found out that each fag has 1mg of nicotine in it. This has really annoyed me, as I take 15mg patches. I smoked 10 fags a day when I smoked 40 days ago and if I have my maths skills right, I've got more nicotine in me than I did when I smoked!

This can't be right?

I fell like I'm back to day one

im not sure, if your not happy, speak to your doc or nurse

for me, its the habit that needs breaking

I haven't used the patches before Chiz (that's why I did cold turkey cause I wanted the nic out quick!).. but even if that's right and you have got more nic in you now, you haven't got any tar, any carbon monoxide, any carcinogens at all.. think of that!! That's a darn sight better than you were 40 days ago - I say stay with it if the patches are keeping you quit.. a bit of nic in ya blood aint nuffink compared to all the other crap in a fag.

If you really are miffed by it though - try stopping CT - go on!! It's empowering! he he!! Good luck!! Stay strong!

Shouldn't you be cutting down to the smaller patches? (7mg I think) :confused:

They told me at my smoking cessation group that one fag actually had 3mg of nicotine in it and theyve also told me that although nicotine is addictive its actually harmless in itself, as phil said, its what its mixed with thats the killer.

Ive been stopped now 47 days tomorrow(sat) and im on the 7mg patches but thats only because i asked for them cos i thought i was ready.

Thanks a lot for the support, guys. I think the thing that annoyed me was the fact the cravings are always going to be there until I get off the patches.

I'd rather be hooked on patches, though!
