really upset

look people, im really upset, especially considering some of you don't take me seriously that i AM determined to quit smoking.

I might not have the determination as some of you , or SHOW it online, but i know i am determined.

i just don't appreciate if i were to slip up, or share that my dad said to take little puffs here and there, that it's all wrong.

HOW DO YOU ALL KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR ME AND WHATS NOT???????

I screwed up today and had a blip but still trucking along. NOT smoking one.

NOT craving one.

Maybe my dad was right about little bits?

WHO KNOWS...

the point is ... we all react different, and act different to quitting smoking, and i don't think that is a reason to judge me if i really want to quit or not.

plus i shouldn't have to feel GUILTY for a blip. apparently tho if i don't then im not serious???????

NOT TRUE.

like i said before... it's like going to church hearing "DONT SIN"

and when we do we feel bad..

we're only human... we're going to struggle!

I tend to agree with Boundee

but I won't knock any method that works. if it does work please come back and prove us wrong. but please don't preach this method till there is enought data to prove it works. The last thing that someone who is in the first stages of quitting and braving the first few days of there quit, needs is to hear is that they can have a puff or two, and be ok. They won't. That would have destroyed my quit.

i will not say who is right and who is wrong, but smoking =a druggy scum of the earth(my opinion) so how can u quit if you keep smoking but saying that how can people quit using patch's stop smoking drugs but stick them on your arm instead,

hope i dont start a war or something each person is diffrent,it is not how you get there but as long as you get there.

A smoke here, a puff there...

This is just my opinion but I believe quitting smoking is just what it says QUITTING, not a smoke here or a puff there. There were sooooooooooooooo many times I wanted to do that this past month, but it would put me back to day 1 and I personally wasn't going there again!!! I quit cold-turkey this time because patches didn't work for me. It has been the best method so far in my opinion. The sooner I rid my body of the crap the better.

day 29!:D

like you said a heroin addict use's methadone a heroin substitute,a nicotine addict use's nicotine patch's which is nicotine.

the point i was trying to make is there should be a nicotine substitute instead like the methadone so your not still feeding the habbit.

as for the druggy scum comment. smoking is the most addictive drug there is,and we fall under the monsters claws to quickly.

didnt mean to upset anyone cos my wording is not as it should be.

listen love

firstly i have a lot of patience but i have to admit i may be running out of it

I have explained and i will do so again

this is not my opinion, it is a medical fact, a scientific fact and the only person who would carry on smoking while quitting and thinking that is its a good idea is JACKASS

I realize you may not know who JACKASS is but this will give you something to look up on google to help waste your time as i have done with you trying to help you when your negativity will put someone in there early quit days back to smoking

:D

Totally agree with you there Boudee!

Sonshine

I haven't been on here much recently so saw this post and was quite shocked. It made me look back at all your posts to see why you believe that people don't think you are serious about quitting. Now I know why.

I think most people on here would agree with me in saying you are not serious about quitting smoking at all. Alot of people have offered you advice and have told you that your 'dads' method of a few puffs now and again is wrong. Because of your 'attitude', they have lost patience with you.

If you really really want to do this you would not have a single puff. The next time you think that you want a cigarette, you should only need to think about your mother! If it wasn't for tobacco she would be still be here. That is one of the reasons you said you wanted to quit. It should be reason enough for you to never touch a cigarette again. It is my reason. I know its hard. It's hard for all of us. We are all in the same boat.

Stop being so negative about this and turn it into something positive.

If you're still not convinced, then I guess this isn't the place for you.

And to add,

We have all quit smoking, not easily at all!!

it has been a damned hard uphill struggle

That is how we can help and support Each other.

As Barney said 'we are all in the same boat'.

cold Turkey is the best method for YOU, and for that i am really pleased

I would never of had the will power to go cold turkey, I know that in my heart and I know that if i started again I could not in the future

every quit method has its place with different people

NRT is still a method that is sometimes the only way for some

I have always been led to understand that NRT administers a much LOWER dose of nicotine to "help with cravings.withdrawls etc. I also understand that in a similar way methadone is basically a low dose version of heroin again to help with cravings, withdrals etc. If it works and succeeds in helping the person quit whatever - smoking, heroin anything addictive.

what is the problem??
