Day 10, Woo Hoo

So I've got to day 10 at last and the good thing is its Sunday evening, soon be at work and hopefully an easier week than last week ... how sad does that sound :(, ah well whatever works to get me thru the days, its only short term and then back to hating Monday mornings and loving Fridays :).

Thanks for all the support so far specially to Buffy and Boudee, you're always there to help folks along and it means a lot. Sorry I don't always reply as quick as I'd like but don't get chance to post every day but get on when I can. I feel a bit ancient on here cos I'm 50 and I get the impression that quite a lot of folks are a lot younger, but heh never too old to quit, lol.

Had another hurdle to overcome today, my fella went out for the day and I was on my own all day  so I decided to clean the whole house at top speed, that kept me occupied but these old joints wondered what the heck had happened, lol, at least it got me thru another difficult day, now roll on Monday ;).

Thanks Boudee! Yes it was a totally different time back then, gosh that makes me sound ancient, and I did quit in my twenties going cold turkey ... no NRT etc. then ... and stayed off them for 5 years, but then things went pear shaped when I got divorced and I started smoking again, the most stupid thing I've ever done in my life!!! Anyway its taken quite a while and a few more attempts to get to this stage, but I'm DETERMINED not to smoke again.

So again, thanks for the support and today has been easier, as I thought cos I'm at work. Hope my quit has given some encouragement to your mum, and I do think its a bit easier when you're older cos you know the score and that time is running out ;). You just don't want any more of your life passing by in a fog and I'm getting too old for that standing outside milarky.

Hello caz...Well done on choosing to quit..If it makes you feel any better I am 55..age don't bother me it is just another number..My mother is 87 she has no intention of packing in the ciggies, her choice..But to think god willing if I reach her age I will have been smoke free for 32 yrs. Never to late to do anything..behappyxx

Thanks everyone for the support, don't feel so ancient today. I don't normally bother about my age, not like me at all, certainly enjoyed all the celebrations on my 50th unlike my fella who didn't want to celebrate at all - very miserable about the age thing. Went to Barcelona and it was really great (January 07).

Anyway its day 12 today and managed to get thru another night on my own last night and didn't feel too bad at all really, so that's positive :D. Off to do some early xmas shopping on Saturday with non-smoking daughter so that'll be fun and will be able to eat absolutely anywhere without worrying where I'll be able to smoke :p.

Question - has anyone been on the Champix and completed the course or know anyone who has? I was just wondering what happened when you came off it, do all the cravings come back? Hope not cos I'm due to finish them just before Xmas .

That's a cool way to spend your birthday!!

Ah bless the fella, he'll be coming home in a swept wig, convertible car and wearing nothing but hot pants and a medallion before you know it

Oh I am sure it isn't too bad coming off the Champix,

Hopefully someone else can be a bit ore specific :o

But really, with christmas there at the end, it'll keep you busy!!

good distraction! not much chance of popping outside then either!
